We are seeking an experienced retail marketplace professional to join our team.

About the job

This role supports territory leadership to identify and shape retail fleet opportunities by determining optimal store locations, formats and capacity allocation based on sales strategies, monitors customer, competitor and industry activity.  Responsible for research, business development and sales administration.  

Who You’ll Work With

This role bridges external partners and internal teams to ensure strategic, data-driven decisions that align with business growth objectives. Operate independently while managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and changing business needs.
 

What You’ll Work On

Marketplace planning - Prioritize city/trade zone mapping with clear understanding of customer profile and market research data.  Potential site/location review and assessment; Concept and door project planning and review; Development of annual fleet plan to support sales strategies of the territory.  Report metrics such as elevated doors, spaces, investments, and productivity.  Drive day-to-day operations of Nike’s marketplace mapping capability. 

Stakeholder management – Translate business needs into clear requirements for stakeholders.  Build strong relationship and connection with landlord for business leaders, sharing Nike and territory sales strategy and support transition projects from concept to scaled capability.  Track dependencies, decisions, and timelines to ensure delivery.

Cross-functional Collaboration - Coordinate stakeholders across Sales, Planning, Finance, and GC function teams.  Ensure alignment and progress on marketplace mapping initiatives.  Support Sale Account upon store development communication and alignment.

Problem Solving: Defines and resolves complex issues where fundamental principles do not clearly apply or where data appears to conflict.  Recommends and receives approval on and drives implementation of new innovative solutions to complex problems with only general precedence available in resolving some unforeseen complications.  Conducts thorough analysis, often reaching outside the organization.

Knowledge & Skills:  Excellent ability to influence, negotiate, prioritize, and focus.  Frequently advises others on complex matters; requires strong skills to understand complex work, such as in-depth knowledge or conceptual thinking.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Project Management, Business Administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 8+ years of experience in retail strategic projects, retail expansion, real estate, marketplace planning, or strategy roles.  Preferably in a global, vertically integrated, or specialty retail environment
  • Ability to translate strategy into actionable plans and measurable outcomes
  • Strategic thinking and data-driven decision making
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management and effective cross-functional partnership in a matrixed organization
  • Resilient, adaptable, and results-oriented.  Able to perform effectively under pressure
  • Good command in spoken and written English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Mandarin)
