WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
The NASC Procurement lead joins a team focused on strengthening Nike’s operational performance through strategic category execution. The role reports to the North America Supply Chain Procurement Director in Memphis and partners with Global Supply Chain Procurement and category leads, North America transportation, distribution, and operations teams, Procurement Operations, Finance, Legal, and the procurement managed service provider.
Global teams develop category strategies, while the lead applies those strategies to North America business requirements and translates them into practical execution.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Nike is looking for an experienced supply chain procurement leader who can engage stakeholders, translate global category strategies into practical North America execution, and deliver measurable business outcomes across transportation and distribution operations. The ideal candidate brings a logistics procurement background, strong operational knowledge, and a category leadership mindset.
This role is focused on category execution rather than traditional sourcing. Working knowledge of sourcing is important, but the strongest candidate will be distinguished by supply chain depth, experienced judgment, and the ability to connect operational requirements with external supplier and market capabilities.
- 6+ years of relevant experience in logistics procurement, transportation, distribution, supply chain operations, category management, sourcing, or a closely related field.
- Strong knowledge of North America transportation and distribution operations and the factors that shape supplier and category decisions.
- Proven ability to engage stakeholders, clarify business requirements, develop strategy, influence decisions, and lead execution in a matrixed organization.
- Working knowledge of strategic sourcing, including requests for information, quotation, and proposal (RFx); supplier evaluation; negotiations; and contracting.
- Experience leading complex, multi-million-dollar initiatives and evaluating cost, service, capability, operational, and risk trade-offs.
- Clear, influential communication skills, executive presence, analytical acumen, and the judgment to navigate ambiguity and move work forward.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, operations, finance, industrial engineering, program management, or equivalent combination of experience, training and education.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
The NASC Procurement lead will translate global category strategies into practical execution for North America transportation and distribution operations while delivering value, managing risk, and advancing business objectives.
- Build trusted stakeholder relationships and align on the prioritization and sequencing of incoming work based on business requirements, value, and risk.
- Translate transportation and distribution requirements into actionable category and procurement plans.
- Lead category execution from strategy through supplier recommendation and contract award, aligning stakeholders on decision criteria, must-haves, trade-offs, and negotiation plans.
- Use operational and market knowledge to evaluate supplier capabilities, challenge assumptions, identify execution risks, and recommend practical solutions.
- Lead complex, multi-million-dollar RFx events and supplier negotiations while maintaining focus on the broader category and business outcome.
- Conduct spend, market, supplier, and operational analysis to identify value opportunities and support fact-based decisions.
- Provide direction to Procurement Operations and the procurement managed service provider to ensure high-quality sourcing and contracting execution.
- Develop concise, executive-ready materials that communicate strategy, recommendations, risks, decisions, and outcomes.
- Adopt and scale effective procurement practices, tools, and ways of working across NASC.
