WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
This role sits within Nike’s GC Local Creation organization and reports directly to the VP, Local Creation GC. The Costing & Sourcing function plays a critical role in enabling consumer-right, locally relevant products by connecting product ambition with cost, margin, supplier capability, quality, capacity, and speed.
This leader will serve as the senior functional lead for Costing & Sourcing within GC Local Creation, building the strategy, operating model, governance, and capabilities required to support the organization as it grows.
The role partners closely with Product Line Management, Design, Product Development, Technical Development, Materials, Merchandising, Planning, Finance, Marketplace, Product Integrity, Global Sourcing, and factory partners, while collaborating with both GC and global stakeholders to bring locally created products to market.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a strategic, hands-on, and results-oriented Senior Manager, Costing & Sourcing to lead Nike’s Costing & Sourcing capability for Greater China Local Creation.
This leader will develop and execute integrated costing and sourcing strategies that support product creation, commercial goals, speed, quality, and sustainable profitability. They bring deep product creation and manufacturing knowledge, strong commercial and financial acumen, and the ability to translate complex cost and supplier information into clear business decisions.
The successful candidate is comfortable operating in an evolving organization. They create clarity in ambiguity, establish scalable ways of working, influence across a matrix organization, and use data to drive decisions. They are also an authentic and inclusive leader who develops talent, builds trusted partnerships, and balances immediate seasonal delivery with long-term capability building.
Key requirements:
10+ years of progressive experience in product costing, cost engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, product development, supply chain, or related field within footwear, apparel, accessories, sporting goods, or consumer products.
Deep understanding of end-to-end product creation and commercialization, including materials, construction, manufacturing processes, supplier economics, cost drivers, quality, capacity, and delivery.
Proven ability to create costing methodologies, analyze complex cost data, validate assumptions, and translate findings into clear business decisions and trade-off recommendations.
Experience developing sourcing and supplier strategies and managing senior relationships with factories, vendors, and cross-functional partners.
Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to balance consumer value, design intent, quality, speed, margin, and risk.
Demonstrated leadership experience in a regional or global matrix organization, including leading teams, programs, or cross-functional initiatives.
Exceptional influence, negotiation, communication, program management, and stakeholder alignment skills.
Ability to develop talent and build an inclusive, high-performing team and function.
Ability to lead effectively in a complex, fast-paced, and evolving environment.
Fluency in English and Mandarin for day-to-day business communication is strongly preferred. Travel to supplier and partner locations may be required.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will lead the Costing & Sourcing function for GC Local Creation, developing the strategy, capabilities, and ways of working needed to deliver locally relevant products with strong consumer value, speed, quality, and commercial impact.
In this role, you will:
Define and execute the GC Local Creation costing and sourcing strategy in service of GC consumer, marketplace, product, and business priorities.
Build the Costing & Sourcing operating model, governance, seasonal calendar, decision rights, tools, and performance metrics.
Create a fact-based costing framework that connects product briefs, target costs, margin expectations, design intent, materials, construction, productivity, duty, and manufacturing feasibility.
Partner with product creation and Finance teams to set cost targets, identify value opportunities early, and provide transparent cost scenarios and trade-off recommendations at key milestones.
Develop sourcing strategies that match product needs with the right supplier capabilities, capacity, speed, quality, innovation, sustainability, and commercial requirements.
Build strong partnerships with Global Sourcing teams and factory partners, clarifying roles, escalation paths, and ways of working for locally created products.
Lead seasonal cost and sourcing reviews, track performance against targets, surface risks early, and drive corrective actions through commercialization and production readiness.
Identify and scale cost engineering, manufacturing, material, process, and digital opportunities that improve product value, speed, predictability, and profitability.
Establish clear supplier performance expectations and use data to improve cost accuracy, delivery, quality, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
Advise leaders on cost, margin, supplier, capacity, compliance, and operational risks, with clear options and recommendations.
Build and develop the future Costing & Sourcing team, including capability definition, role clarity, coaching, talent development, and succession planning.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across the Local Creation organization.
