WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

This role is based in Nike Korea’s Busan office and reports to the Manager, Footwear Cost Engineering. The individual collaborates closely with Nike Footwear Manufacturing Partners and works cross-functionally with Footwear Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Finance. They partner with Cost Engineering teams in Busan and across Asia to manage seasonal quotes and identify opportunities to drive value. This role serves as both an internal and external subject matter expert in Nike footwear costing.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The team seeks a Senior Engineer, Footwear Cost Engineering who is a proactive problem solver with strong prioritization skills and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment. The individual builds strong partnerships across cross-functional teams to deliver competitive, sustainable, and standardized costing outcomes. They bring expertise in footwear construction, manufacturing, innovation, and costing, along with an understanding of global business practices. Experience within the footwear supply chain is preferred.

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in footwear engineering, development, manufacturing, or product costing. Experience in related disciplines is also valued.
  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in Engineering, Business Management, Finance, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of footwear construction, manufacturing processes, innovation, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with integrity, remain adaptable, deliver results, and navigate ambiguity.
  • A pragmatic and resourceful problem solver who proactively identifies issues and drives cross-functional solutions.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and familiarity with AI tools and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 10% of the time. 
  • Day to Day commute 3 locations including Nike office and factory partners. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills both Korean & English.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

As a Senior Engineer, Footwear Cost Engineering, you will drive efficient and effective manufacturing cost at scale by applying Nike’s best practices.

  • Lead strategic costing discussions that guide teams toward cost optimization outcomes aligned with product briefs and profitability goals.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives while influencing Manufacturing Partners across all phases of product creation and production.
  • Communicate costing strategies and recommendations clearly, using engineering and manufacturing insights to improve product and process outcomes.
  • Ensure cost breakdown accuracy through rigorous validation and analysis, covering both product cost and broader footwear business operations.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing Partners to validate labor process standards and capture value opportunities.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the Cost Engineering function by developing new processes and tools that enable competitive, sustainable, and standardized costing.
  • Support the advancement of Nike’s strategic costing framework by leading initiatives that translate costing and manufacturing concepts into actionable results.
