WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You will join a collaborative engineering team specialized in developing cloud-native applications and integration solutions with the help of AI. The group combines technical expertise with functional knowledge of Finance & Procurement to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
As part of this team, you will lead the design and development of services in a continuous delivery model on the Nike cloud platform. This role will also partner with leads, architects and product managers, to help establish a technical vision and deliver innovative services which are consistent, robust, maintainable, and highly scalable. We follow agile methodologies and practice DevOps. You will regularly interact with P2P capability team, collaborate with other engineering teams, business stakeholders, and technical peers to ensure solutions meet global expectations for financial service, security, reliability, and performance.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a passion for building and maintaining data platforms and delivering next-generation procurement and invoice technology solutions. You thrive in a collaborative environment, have a proven track record of delivering reliable software at scale, and are excited to drive engineering excellence and team capability. This role will elevate the technical aptitude of the team through mentorship, pairing, code reviews, architectural guidance, and design discussions. A learning mindset, excellent analytical skills, and strong written and verbal communication are essential.
Skillset Required
- 5+ years of experience in software development, with a strong foundation in distributed microservice architecture, Domain-Driven Design and RESTful services
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Node.js, Java
- Proven ability to deliver high-impact, API-first microservices at scale
- Deep expertise with cloud platforms like AWS offerings (e.g., SQS, DynamoDB, S3, SNS, CloudWatch, EC2, Lambda, ECS, EKS)
- Experience designing and optimizing data pipelines using Apache Spark or Databricks
- Proficiency in containerized application development, deployment, and orchestration
- Demonstrated expertise in Terraform, CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code operations
- Experience leading technical design discussions and making critical architecture decisions
- Experience with monitoring and tracing tools like Splunk, SignalFx
- Familiarity with GitHub, JIRA, Jenkins
- Hands-on development experience with tools like VS Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
- Proven track record in working with fast-paced, results-oriented environment which has globally distributed and diverse teams
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both Product and Technical teams
- Integration experience with SaaS platforms (e.g., Coupa, Ariba), SAP, and middleware solutions (Oracle Fusion) is a plus
- Working experience integrating with open-source applications (e.g., Kafka, NiFi) is a plus
- Knowledge of AI & ML concepts and applications is a plus
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data platforms and services supporting complex transactional flows globally
- Architect SDKs, APIs, and microservices to support enterprise-wide data and analytics needs
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with all needed documentation
- Drive best practices in software development, data governance, and platform observability
- Make critical technical design choices and establish architectural patterns across the team
- Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and cross-functional teams to develop robust solutions
- Ensure data quality and reliability through testing and validation
- Develop artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions tailored to specific use cases
- Provide mentorship and help develop technical talent in alignment with Nike's technology standards
- Lead code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
- Follow Agile methodologies and practice DevOps
