Data is one of Nike's strategic priorities. Data driven insights are a competitive advantage for Nike and an essential part of the Service we provide to our Consumers. This requires the capability to source, organise and translate data into meaningful insights that help achieve the business strategy . Nike Stores Partnered (NSP) is the franchise business that is part of Nike Retail. Because of the demanding supply chain requirements, the Operations team is continuously focusing on higher speed and delivery accuracy, and internally we strive for efficiency and flexibility. To support this journey, the Business Analyst will be bringing the necessary analytics, process knowledge and fact-based mindset to the Operations team.

What are we looking for:

The Business Analyst supports the team with data analysis, developing insights and scenario modelling that drives decision making to enable delivery to our stores in EMEA with retail precision. And help build a supply chain that is reliable, efficient, fast and flexible. You will contribute one or more of the following core skills to the Retail Stores Operation team:

  • Be the connection between analytics and the Operations team, embedding the use of data & insights as part of daily Nike Stores business

  • Build, maintain, and elevate tools that enable the team to obsess store service

  • Ability to engineer data (source it, bring meaning to it and improve its quality)

  • Proficiency in developing metrics / KPIs for performance management and visualization


You will have a strong Retail/Consumer Focus, Service Mindset and the ability to challenge current way of working.

Examples of your responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain, and elevate tools & reports that will enable the team to make better decisions and make their work more efficient;

  • Train team members in how to generate insights and be the change agent for embedding analytics in the day to day operations;

  • Developing automatic data driven processes and decision-making tools;

  • Be a driving force behind process efficiency and automation in the full, in order to free up time to invest in service level improvement;

  • Develop applications of classification, forecasting, simulation, optimization, and summarization techniques;

  • Work cross functionally with broader Operations, Planning, Nike data owners and cross functional analytics teams;

  • Work across the full analytics lifecycle; data preparation, analyses, presenting results and convincing your audience with fact-based advice;

  • Create compelling, interactive visualizations to enhance decision making;

  • Prepare data findings with clear action points on a continuous;

  • Support the Nike Stores Operations management team in answering complex analytical questions, e.g. in Service Level Differentiation or Shorten Lead-time.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for:

You'll join a team in the fastest growing area of Nike, with many players, all of whom are hungry for information on how we can serve our consumers better, and how to measure their impact. The game plan needs players in the middle; not just technically skilled to serve those around you, but also capable of connecting the dots and see the bigger picture, and motivating others to change their mindset.

We are looking for a team player with a passion for retail, the consumer, data, and driving actions through insights. It would be advantageous for candidates to have as many of the skills below skills, though not all are expected:

  • A numerical, scientific, or computationally based qualification or relevant experience

  • Minimum of 2-3 years' relevant experience in a commercial environment

  • Experience in a Data and Reporting Organization

  • Experience in big data environments and data architecture

  • Experience working within agile methodology

  • Technically proficient on reporting solutions and tools like COGNOS, Tableau, PowerBI, SQL, Alteryx and Excel

  • Proven aptitude to sift through data, identify critical information, analyze, develop hypothesis and make recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Strong problem-solving capability to tackle complicated issues

  • Project management experience

  • Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills, with capacity to interact with all levels in the organization

  • Bias for action, drive for results while demonstrating positive attitude and enthusiasm
