Description

As the Global Partner Market Business and Merchandising Planner, you will be responsible for planning the business in alignment with our financial targets and translating analytical business insights into actions that will drive better results and respond to current business trends. This role will also be responsible for conducting and reviewing qualitative and quantitative business assessments through pre-season, in-season and post-season planning and tracking efforts. This role will update and simplify our forecasting process to gain improved territory insights and analysis that will lead to better forecasting. In partnership with finance you will be responsible for the orderbook analysis, track it against our financial targets and create actionable insights for our commercial and merchandising teams. The GPM Planner will actively work with internal and external team members to support the growth & development of organizational objectives while creating the foundation and future of GPM Planning.

Essential Functions:
  • Partner with various business functions to provide analytical decision support and performance analysis, recommend and implement actions that drive more efficient and profitable results
  • Lead analysis with action-oriented reporting on GPM business and product trends (monthly, quarterly, and seasonally) recapping noteworthy callouts by category, silhouette, fabrication, color, etc. and help to figure out financial opportunities for individual regions
  • Work with merchandising team to support development of merchandising and product flow strategies through analytics
  • Identify risks and opportunities in the marketplace; make recommendations to Integrated Marketplace leadership and planning teams at key intervals by creating executive level views of marketplace performance
  • Responsible for accurately targeting, forecasting, reporting and communicating results on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Provide variance analysis, including identification of gaps, trends and opportunities within the company and recommendations for possible course corrections
  • Plan, facilitate and implement ad hoc analyses to support decision-making, evaluate business initiatives, evaluate performance, etc.
  • Develop and monitor performance to budget/forecast and identify opportunities for improvement at the GEO, partner and key account level.
  • Partner with Business Intelligence teams to lead development and execution of automated selling reports and standardize across the GEO.
  • Utilize Global & Geo Dashboards and Standard Reports to create executive level views of marketplace performance
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and leadership to understand key metrics and drivers and provide visibility, specifically highlighting trends and gaps to plan
  • Support Category Game Plan Strategic meetings and enable cross-functional teams with accurate, reliable and actionable data



Qualifications
  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of buying, business planning, and/or merchandising footwear experience required.
  • Prefer a good working knowledge of the footwear & apparel industry and trends in the marketplace.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain fair and honest relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Must have the ability to persuade and influence people to take desired action.
  • Must have good communication skills, including the abilities to elicit information, actively listen, dialogue freely, and verbalize ideas effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience taking data and creating analysis that leads to better decisions.
  • Advanced Excel, Tableau and PowerPoint skill levels required.
  • A self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and ability to take initiative, ownership and accountability for the business.
  • Ability to multi-task and react quickly with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to travel (10%)
