Global Footwear Product Creation, Product Development

Nike, Inc. Product Development is key to making next-level products. The first spark of a product idea sets the Nike, Inc. Footwear Product Creation team into motion. The team of footwear developers, testers, engineers and designers strive for product excellence. They obsess over shoes, while collaborating, ideating and refining the product's construction, fit and style. They use groundbreaking advancements in technology and sustainable design to accelerate innovation. And they work lockstep with Merchandising, Design, Manufacturing and others to produce the final result: products that reflect the soul of sport and inspire athletes to reach new levels of performance.
Description

We are looking for a Color and Aesthetic Innovator to join a team that has recently been established to strengthen advanced Color + Aesthetic innovation exploration. The ideal candidate for this role will come from a product/material innovation and/or development background.

As our Color and Aesthetic Innovator, you'll generate new ways of thinking about Color & Aesthetics that result in growth opportunities and competitive advantages in the marketplace. You'll own the planning, process and project details that create the framework for consistently delivering new never been done before innovations. You'll strengthen the development of innovation projects turning concept ideation into reality by working in, or with, Elite Athletes, multi-disciplinary teams to include product creation, the Nike Sports Research Lab, Materials Innovation, manufacturing, and 3rd party vendors. You'll define protocol and establish scope of testing required to prove and validate a concept. You'll meet complex challenges with imaginative state of the art approaches supported by feasible solutions. You'll strengthen the preparation of reports and presenting results that demonstrate product and manufacturing readiness, and concept directions. You'll efficiently and effectively guide complex workstreams. In addition, you'll clearly and concisely communicate the knowledge and best practices desired to assist the transition of technology to commercial product.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the exploration of future methods, techniques and approaches to utilizing color and aesthetics as a point of separation and business advantage for Nike Inc.
• Identify opportunities to accelerate exploration through problem solving while continually looking for ways to improve and streamline processes.
• Communicate and coordinate with internal cross-functional partners and external vendor partners to guide, develop and guide the business implementation of creative technologies, ideas or platforms with the ability to produce aesthetic and color distinction for Nike Inc.
• Track and manage substrates, samples, and product sample creation.
• Support program budget creation, administration and reporting.
• Schedule meetings, manage agendas, develop presentations and facilitate discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Capture meeting minutes with clear actions, owners, and follow-up on due dates and decisions.


Qualifications


  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, typically in materials, development, design, engineering, research, and/or production.
  • Direct experience in Nike Innovation is a plus.
  • Nike, Inc. knowledge and established credibility is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Industrial Design, Product Development Engineering, or related field is a plus.
  • Able to adapt to a quickly-changing environment and priorities
  • Able to navigate ambiguity
  • Eager to learn new skillsets quickly & is curious and exploratory in their research
  • Budget and cost management experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate.
  • Capable of synthesizing and representing complex information into clear, refined messages.
