ROLE: Drive synergy and cohesive storytelling around color + materials seasonal design strategy, taking direction from Color and Materials Design Leadership. Responsible for unifying aesthetic approach in Fuel category on a project by project basis.

In this role, you will drive an emotional connection to color and materials for the consumer through the use of narrative and storytelling - bringing to life trend-relevant, seasonal creative direction by being a color/materials specialist at the product and collection level. You will leverage color and materials to deliver a premium, recognizable and consumer relevant brand point of view in the marketplace through strategic vision, design direction, storytelling and editing. In addition, you will lead the development of the materials creative vision and strategies for category/consumer groups, maintaining hands-on involvement in Materials design and development, in support of creative direction, seasonal initiatives and go-to-market strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
• Partners with Fuel design + product teams for in-depth consumer/collaborator insights
• Drives a high degree of color and material innovation & excellence
• Partners with cross-functional teams throughout product creation process to deliver against closer-to-market dates & gates (FW Dev, Mat DEV, PLMs)
• Embrace ambiguity and simplify complexity
• Plans and executes product details and reviews all samples, troubleshoots achievability issues, and clearly communicates changes to ensure timely completion of each project (follows CAD Excellence Standards in Color and Materials)
• Obsess storytelling and share the "why" behind the work

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Art or a related field
  • 5 - 7 years relevant experience in a design environment working with materials, textiles and/or color
  • Ability to translate consumer knowledge/insight to narratives and product executions
  • Exceptional Presentation Skills; Visual Communication
  • Strong consumer connection with performance and lifestyle related products
  • Highly organized and self-sufficient
  • Experience in participating in multiple projects with competing resources and deadlines
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment; Information Seeker
  • Passion for Design
