The NIKE, Inc. Supply Chain team is the engine that propels product around the world. Supply Chain experts ensure that every year, almost a billion units of footwear, apparel and equipment arrive at the right place, at the right time. To ensure this complex job goes off without a hitch, Supply Chain teams work with a network of more than 50 distribution centers, thousands of accountants, and more than 100,000 retail stores worldwide - making the impossible happen every single day.

The Transportation Data Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the North America Transportation consumption and reporting layers contain timely, accurate, and robust data required by the Domestic and International operations teams to enable continuous improvement. This role partners closely with Enterprise Data & Analytics and the North America Supply Chain Innovation Performance and Reporting functions to convert performance management business requirements into data requirements and provision this data to the appropriate Transportation teams. The Data Specialist also partners with cross-functional teams such as Marketplace Operations, Finance, DC Planning and Operations, and Global Transportation to ensure these teams have access to the appropriate Transportation data to inform their work. This role also partners within North America Transportation to drive a culture of data-based decisions and ensure all teams have the data necessary to optimize marketplace service and efficiency in support of the overall Nike, Inc. strategy.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Define data requirements for consumption/reporting layers based on business requirements gathered by Transportation Performance Manager
  • Monitor usage of performance management reports and recommend areas for divestiture or additional investment
  • Maintain and improve Transportation-related master data (customer locations, carrier info, transit tables, etc.).
  • Provide training to NA T&T teams to get access to required data for ad-hoc analytics
  • Serve as point of contact for all questions about metrics definitions and calculations
  • Govern data (usage, access rights, etc.) to ensure the right information is leveraged at appropriate levels to optimize marketplace service and efficiency


Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of progressive data management and governance experience in the field of operations and logistics
    • 2 additional years of experience required in lieu of a degree
  • Experience with data toolsets (SQL, Snowflake, Alteryx, Tableau, R, etc.)
  • Data visualization and performance management reporting experience
  • Broad understanding of supply chain logistics, from consolidator to distribution center to final destination
  • Demonstrated experience simplifying complex analysis to explain difficult concepts and influence others to adopt a new point of view based on analytical insights

Preferred:
  • Transportation operations experience
