Commerce-Growth Engineering Director - At the center of Nike's Digital Transformation is our Consumer Direct Offense. Nike is driving investments in platforms to create unbreakable relationships with consumers through state-of-the-art platforms that drive consumer connections. We are looking for a strong Engineering leader whose team will partner with Product, Program, and Engineering teams to help deliver enterprise level initiatives including Omnichannel, Membership, and Global Store.

Skills:
  • Expert interpersonal, written and verbal skills with shown ability to educate, inform, influence, and achieve understanding and buy-in on solution designs across Product, Program, and Engineering leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to and prioritize changing demands effectively
  • Advanced critical thinking and ability to creatively solve complex, unique problems with large business impact
  • Excellent collaboration and relationship management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence others internally and externally
  • Excellent understanding of the Agile principles and methodologies and how they're applied in workplace culture
  • Experience working with teams in a global model, across various geographies - both technical and business-facing roles

Responsibilities:
  • In partnership with Architecture business stakeholders, and capabilities teams to influence an annual roadmap across eCommerce platforms for cross functional initiatives.
  • Lead the professional development and career plans for a team of principal engineers, help us develop the technology leaders of tomorrow.
  • Lead trade-off discussions when considering technical solutions.
  • Coach a team that effectively communicates and can seamlessly transition between discussing high level vision with executives to low level tactics with the engineering teams.
  • Influence people and align efforts across a matrixed organization in order to deliver end to end solutions.
  • Set high standards for engineering excellence and utilize engineering best practices to consistently deliver scalable, production-grade solutions


  • Bachelors' degree in Business, Computer Science or a related field, with 10 years' professional experience within enterprise systems and software applications or related experience.
  • 6+ years' experience leading diverse, driven, dynamic teams in software projects
  • Consistent track record of leading change in a complex, matrix organization
  • Deep knowledge of software architecture and engineering best practices, especially modern cloud computing stacks and deploying microservices at scale.
  • Experience with cloud-based stacks, preferably AWS
  • Fluency with at least one programming language: Java, Python, or Javascript
  • Comfortable working within an exciting fast-paced environment
  • Openness to new technologies and creative solutions
  • Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional work including experience resolving complex issues with all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge and experience with systems and processes that support wholesale and direct-to-consumer capabilities.
  • Experience estimating work, planning, organization and implementing complex software projects
