Description

As the Director of Global Order to Cash (O2C) Accounting, you will be a key member of the Leadership team dedicated to guiding the Company on the transition from today's decentralized, country-specific tools and processes used to manage revenue and receivables to a more global operating model with standardized processes and global policies and tools.  You will drive influential and collaborative relationships with cross-functional business partners to deliver informed business decisions, process excellence, optimized financial control and financial statement accuracy related to Global Revenue and Receivables. In this role you will report directly to the Senior Director, Order to Cash.



Key accountabilities include:

• Deliver flawless accounting conclusions on significant marketplace controlling matters in a timely manner to inform business decisions and maintain conclusions to drive global and historical consistency.

• Develop, maintain, and communicate the appropriate revenue and receivable related accounting policies and supplements to require how, when, and by whom the company's customer arrangements and transactions are performed, accounted for, and disclosed.

• Establish standard Global Order to Cash processes and controls by conducting systematic activities to establish and communicate purpose and defined, measurable performance indicators that when carried out help us achieve operational effectiveness and efficiency while reducing risk or errors; and ensuring that management information is accurate, reliable, and timely.

• Provide systematic management oversight - strategy, design, transition, operation, and continuous improvement - of Global controlling-owned Order to Cash systems / applications that enhance and improve business operations, automation, and reporting.

• Influence structure / terms of customer arrangements before execution; and defining, documenting, communicating / educating, implementing, maintaining, and enforcing policy and process to ensure all arrangements between NIKE and third parties are identified, accounted for, and disclosed - in a timely and accurate manner - within the company's financial statements.

• Continuously improve the quarterly Global Revenue Recognition process

• Perform technical research on revenue recognition and/or other complex accounting issues, and provide accounting consultation advice to business partners;

• Develop and maintain NIKE Global Accounting Policies and Processes related to revenue and receivables;

•     W ork closely with NIKE Financial Governance & Controls team to manage any Internal, External Audit and SOX compliance work related to revenue.

• Be instrumental to Nike's Strategic Enterprise Capabilities (SEC) program defining and coordinating all O2C process design and consultation requirements to better integrate business processes and controls.

• Lead, coach, drive, and inspire organizational talent through a sustained commitment to the performance management lifecycle, enabling employees to efficiently and effectively meet organizational goals. Driving clarity of role and responsibility, fiscal year goal-setting, regularly occurring communication with actionable coaching / feedback, and substantive on-time delivery of mid- and end-of-year performance reviews.


Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • 10+ years' extensive experience in public accounting, transaction services/financial business process consulting, industry controlling
  • 2+ years' proven people management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate status, issues, and risks with senior leadership team
  • Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience, including meeting facilitation and presentations
  • Strong ability to develop high profile, influential and collaborative relationships across teams, functions and layers
  • Excellent understanding and application of managerial concepts and techniques in areas such as innovation, inspiration, employee development, coaching and engagement
  • Ability to pass a 7-year background check

Preferred:

  • An MBA (with a concentration on Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field) or CPA is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, business processes and strategic planning is strongly preferred
  • Experience with accounting for e-commerce or other front end customer-facing interaction technology a plus
