About the Marketing team

Consumer conversations and relationships fuel the work of Nike Marketing. It's the fuel that has built one of the most recognizable brands in the world. Nike Marketing captures the science, art, and emotion of Nike's innovations and connects them with the hearts, minds, and souls of athletes.

The pros in brand strategy, advertising, digital engagement, product presentation, consumer analytics and more foster consumer connections via channels ranging from Nike Stores to social media. They approach marketing in a way that only Nike can: taking risks, pushing boundaries and inspiring consumers to be champions.

About the role

As Director of Influencer Marketing, you will be responsible to drive the overall Influencer Marketing strategy including Influencers relationships & plans and Energy/ high heat product launches. As the leader of the function in Japan you will define priorities and orchestrate multiple workstreams to develop and implement the plans and executions across Japan with a deeper focus on the city of Tokyo.

Your plans and strategies will inspire consumers through leveraging influencers and energy product opportunities to deliver what the brand can do for Athletes*, in partnership with key categories, functions and broader geography and global marketing teams.

You will provide strong leadership and entrepreneur skills to lead the cross functional marketing team and contribute to the overall business growth, focusing on leading the team of Influencer Marketing inclusive of Influencers Relationships & Plans and Energy/ High Heat products pipelines.

You will have direct management authority over managers and a specialist, to which you will provide direction and coaching.

This role will require some travel to Nike World Headquarters in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the influencer marketing vision from strategy to execution, inclusive of the 2 main work streams related to the function (Influencers Relationships & Plans + Energy/ High heat product launches).
  • Integrate the influencer marketing strategy into the territory brand direction and communication across business matrix.
  • Ensure alignment of territory plans with geo/global brand direction.
  • Drive innovation through insights and industry knowledge, across influencer marketing to develop relative experiences, events and product placement that further the Nike Brand strategy.
  • Drive cutting edge creativity in marketing strategies, showrooms and displays based upon industry trends.
  • Implement quick response strategic plans to capitalize on rapid influencer industry changes to maintain Nike's competitive edge.
  • Develop Influencers strategies to support brand and category priorities thru seasonal or long-term journeys and deals.


Requirements

  • University degree in Economics, Business, Marketing, Communication or related field.
  • Minimum eight years' experience in Marketing/Communication related role in "High-Value" brand driven organizations preferably in the lifestyle industry.
  • Experience in building brands and use all consumers touch points.
  • Experience in navigating a highly matrix organization.
  • Strategic planning and business analysis experience, including experience making business decisions that impact product and business growth.
  • Knowledgeable of local Trends and Influencers/ Entertainment industry in Japan/ Asia.
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English is required (minimum TOEIC 800+).
