The Nike, Inc. Communications team develops, establishes and strengthens authentic connections with diverse audiences through the lens of innovation and sport. Communications employees ignite conversations, envision the possibilities, and influence and deliver new levels of creative and strategic thinking to advance the brand around the world.
Description

A s the NA/West Training Brand Director, you will have the unique role that serves the NA geo as well as the LA city.  In this role, you will be responsible for driving and managing Brand Marketing for the Training Category - as well as delivering category growth in one of Nike's most important territories.  You'll provide strategic leadership and develop briefs and marketing plans for the geo and territory seasonal brand initiatives including leading the seasonal code offense. You'll be the voice of the Training consumer and all insights around the category and consumer in LA.  You'll develop and maintain effective relationships across the matrix and work closely with a diverse cross-functional team, leading them in the planning and execution of seasonal marketing plans.  

You'll work closely with the Global teams to keep them updated on current on market trends, the competition, the consumer and you'll be accountable for driving key metrics and marketplace alignment to improve and influence Nike's brand and Training category strength in Los Angeles and the West.  You'll drive the Integrated Marketing process for Training and lead processes that enable timely and effective execution by cross-functional business teams.   You'll participate in business planning, budgeting, performance targeting and in functional discussions and initiatives across departments. You'll utilize internal partnerships and leverage external relationships that enhance the team's effectiveness.  You'll be managing a training marketing manager as well as a cross functional team and be part of a fast-paced, high energy, talented team of marketers that have a passion for sport and creating meaningful connections between consumers and the Nike brand.  This position is at the epicenter of a new, future-forward marketing model, a city-up approach to Geo/Territory marketing with this individual uniquely positioned on the leadership teams of NA Category Marketing, West Marketing and the NA Training Category.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a business related field.
  • 8 years' progressively responsible marketing experience.
  • 2 years' additional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in Brand Marketing is required.
  • Experience in one of Nike's key categories is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the Training category consumer is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the local LA market and industry is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations.
  • Ability to lead a cross-functional team toward a vision through effective collaboration - and to drive the development and execution of marketing plans.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
  • Ability to successfully navigate and manage across a broad internal matrix organization.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with management and external resources.
  • Sounds judgement and ability to provide information toward the determination of policy and strategy.
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of professionalism.
  • Demonstrated leadership in fostering continuous learning, empowerment, involvement and opportunities.
  • Ability to establish an independent view, effectively collaborate in decision-making and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • A passion (or the ability to quickly build one!) for Training & the Five Facets of Fitness (Training, Recovery, Sleep, Nutrition, Wellness)
