SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Director of Reliability Engineering at Nike, you will inspire a team of embedded SRE's with your leadership and passion for increasing system reliability. Nike SRE's are focused on identifying and solutioning for some of the most complex production issues impacting the business. You will drive the reliability of Nike's business critical services in a complex distributed system. You will develop a set of support practices for the Move and Corporate Functions & Converse technology domains. You will serve as an extension of these domains by discovering ways to improve support operations. Creating scalable engineering solutions will be at the heart of what you do. As an SRE leader you will study and understand SRE industry best practice and help to elevate Nike's status within the broader SRE community. By thoughtfully settling strategies for reducing toil you will improve the consumer experience and enable our engineering & support organizations to run highly reliable services.
WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE
• Degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field • Minimum 8 years of e-commerce experience with at least 2 years leading a team • Ability to influence by establishing and maintaining cross functional relationships • Experience working in a large distributed/cloud-based end to end ecommerce environment (e.g. Amazon EC2, GCE, Rackspace, Azure, etc.). • Strong foundational knowledge of SRE best practices and prior experience with implementing SRE practices within a team • Background in or solid understanding of supply chain operations, warehouse management systems and logistics • Ability to align operations and engineering teams to common goals and drive cross functional collaboration • Experience leading teams with 24x7 responsibilities and managing the service restoration of critical incidents • Proven ability to mentor a diverse team of engineers and collaborate with them to deliver high-quality solutions • Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
