Description

As a Brand Design Director operating out of the London studio, you will be required to deliver against projects from Global Brand Marketing as well as EMEA Brand Marketing, when needed. You are a leader within the studio. You will run large scale, cross-functional design programs working in collaboration with marketing, creative leaders and fellow designers, producers, writers and agency partners to develop and execute ideas across all channels such as social, Nike Apps, nike.com, retail, event activations and large scale sport moments. You will bring exceptional creative through and mentor and manage other designers on your projects. 

The Role reports into the VP, Creative Director for EMEA, who is also based in London. The role requires a strong sense of communication and working with creative direction across time zones, working with Global teams in Portland, Oregon, as well as Teams based in Nike EHQ in Hilversum.

  • The position requires experience in many different mediums, from multi-channel communication to Retail and 3-Dimensional/Interior Design, with a strong conceptual process that drives through all  the work.
  • The role is within a small team, and will rely on freelance assistance to help, which will require management and facilitation from the Design Director and Studio Manager. You'll direct, manage and lead across agencies and be involved across multiple disciplines. 
  • You will be required to provide tactical and strategic direction as well as delivering high quality concepts and solutions at every stage of the creative process. Executional excellence and the knowledge to drive this forward is a must.
  • You will need to be able to communicate design concepts to various internal and external audiences. You'll manage design processes to ensure design deliverables and timelines are met. In addition, you'll provide ideas that influence, increase and enhance Nike Brand Design and initiate and drive "best practices".
  • The work will be varied and fun, and the expectations are to create and bring new experiences and solutions to the Nike brand. This is an exciting time to be in Nike Brand Design as we are revolutionizing how we work, how we grow and how we communicate with our consumers and members.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in design; communication design, advertising design or interaction design
  • Expertise working with digital platforms, emerging technologies and in-real-life experiences
  • 10+ years' directly relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in Mac OSX, InDesign, Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, Keynote & Acrobat
  • Expert in developing integrated marketing and editorial strategies leveraging the latest trends in digital, physical and emerging channels
  • Expert in art direction and production, visual design, retail design, motion design and event/experience design combined with solid knowledge of how to leverage today's digital channels and emerging technologies
  • Ability to present and sell-in creative concepts and execution ideas with senior leaders and internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to activate cross-functional creative teams
  • Depth of experience working with interactive creative, usability, interaction design and engineering
  • Interest to work in responsive design and collaborative creative teams
  • Expert-level knowledge of current trends in color, technology, communications, experience, art and other design influences
  • Solid communication and influencing skills
  • Proficient information-seeking skills and drive for results (art and science)
  • Expert in creative uses of social media
  • Motion production skills are a bonus
  • Ability to travel 20-30% within Europe and US.
