Advanced Innovation, Product Development

Description

As an Innovator II, you will be responsible for the function, maintenance and expansion of our Equipment Innovation Research Lab. You will develop new performance based Global Football Equipment evaluation solutions that result in growth opportunities and competitive advantages in the marketplace. Through collaboration with designers, researchers, developers and other engineers you will maintain and build our world class performance lab. You will demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills through an ability to deliver multiple innovative solutions to complex problems. You will collaborate with team members across the business to create alignment across the various Nike Labs, share the capabilities of the lab and strengthen advancements in objective product performance evaluation at Nike

We expect this person to be a technical experienced professional who can ideate, innovate and manage the performance evaluation of complex dynamic problems through collaboration in a fast-paced environment. As a successful candidate, you will demonstrate the following key attributes:
  • Demonstrated passion for objective performance evaluation, advanced innovation and product creation
  • Practical knowledge and expertise in experimental data collection and statistical analysis
  • Knowledge of mechanical design, experimental mechanics and mechanical simulation
  • Expertise in programming (MATLAB, C), databases, and statistical modeling
  • Thrives in an environment with ambiguity and changes in priorities
  • Ability to apply athletic knowledge and insights in creating new evaluation methods
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical topics to diverse audiences and at all levels within the organization
  • Excellent analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to simultaneously handle multiple competing projects
  • Ability to work with and impact cross functional teams

Qualifications
  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Biomechanics or similar technical field
  • 7+ years' experience in product design, testing and engineering, or other similar function
  • Knowledge of sporting goods performance testing
  • Experience with product testing, materials testing, and experimental design
  • Excellent multi-tasking and organization skills
  • Ability to operate various pieces of mechanical equipment
  • Ability to transport up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to travel locally between headquarters and an off-site test lab
