WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

This role is critical in curating the consumer experience across all key distribution channels in South Africa, both digital and physical, owned ecosystems and the ones of our Nike Wholesale partners. Our retail and digital experiences lead the marketplace, delivering epic experiences that deliver innovation and inspiration to every consumer.

This role will require seamless cross organizational partnership with Brand Category Leads, PR and the Influencer Manager to craft dynamic consumer engagement opportunities for Nike and Wholesale partner channels.

An ideal candidate will have a mixed background in strategic marketing, Retail , Digital capability and operations with strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills. You will be expected to be a people manager and a self-motivated problem solver who knows how to get things done and works well under pressure.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
  • Oversee development of Key Partner Account Strategies aligned with Nike concepts/priorities
  • Lead the IRM (integrated Retail Marketing) team: retail brand specialist, Nike stores and WS partner teams, Nike Digital, EKINS (product specialists) and product presentation & styling teams. Elevate a digital first mindset within the team.
  • Develop & amplify authentic, distinctive and connected category consumer experiences across all distribution channels in South Africa through bringing key Nike innovations in the most inspirational way. Be a creative thought partner for the Brand team on development of consumer experiences within mono-brand, multi-brand and category specialties channels, online and offline.
  • Work closely with EMEA/EAST Retail brand teams and with local brand & business category partners to elevate category consumer experiences across all channels.
  • Develop and implement locally relevant IMP (integrated Marketplace) brand marketing strategy based on global directions. Be responsible for creative adaptation of global marketing assets for South Africa market to be consistent with global brand direction.
  • Re-launch and Elevate nike.com consumer experiences to make sure we are relevant to the consumer expectations and exceed them.
  • Make sure Nike Direct and wholesale channels are the active part of the Nike ecosystem.
  • Manage IRM brand budget to ensure investments are strategically aligned with global brand plan and country strategic priorities
  • Drive alignment between other Brand functions, sales, retail teams, DSM, Operations and European headquarters' counterparts, be the active contributor to the IBA (Integrated Business Attack) process.
  • Apply understanding of analytics, review results and leverage their learning
  • Drive innovative thinking and entrepreneurial ideas, inform the rest of the team of emerging technologies and industry updates.


WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

You will work closely with Nike retail, Digital Direct, Nike brand & territory leadership to develop a concept map and positioning of stores and categories, to establish a tiered consumer experience approach across store portfolio in South Africa.

WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE?
  • Minimum 8 years of marketing experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communication or a related field
  • Brand professional: Brand marketing skills are crucial. Preferably in innovative / digital industries
  • Digital: Elevated digital strategy and implementation (brand and commercial experience).
  • Strong vision and adaptive to changing digital and commercial landscape
  • Technical and professional knowledge: Multi-project management and planning; brand and retail experience + digital background
  • Business Analysis and Quantitative Skills: Use factual information to make decisions and ensure profitability. Approach problems and business situations methodically and analytically.
  • Action oriented: Need to be self starter and able to work and make independently sound decisions in a timely manner. Be able to get things done. Strategic thinker.
  • Strong organization skills: Ability to prioritize and organize workload in responsive to often aggressive timelines. Knowledge of the market/consumer and ability to create structure into market place.
  • Flexibility: Able to be flexible and to quickly understand new information and situations to always changing environment.
  • Communication skills: Strong ability to communicate with people across all different levels, nationalities and cultures within and outside the organization. Be able to present to management teams.
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate with outside vendors and project management firms.
  • Networking: Establish relationships with key accounts, specialty accounts, EHQ and global teams, vendors and maintain these relationships. Be an open and positive person.
  • Team player: Must be tactful with strong team orientation. Proven ability to work with a team, give inputs, negotiate and support others. Able to work with different cultures by leading a diverse team.
  • Organizational Awareness: Works well across NIKE's matrix system. Recognizes motives that might underlie an individual's or group action. Can surface conflicting agendas and align them with business objectives.
  • Passion for sports and South Africa marketplace
  • Frequent travel to Amsterdam - EHQ - 10/15%
