Global Footwear Product Creation

The first spark of a product idea sets the Nike, Inc. Footwear Product Creation team into motion. The team of footwear developers, testers, engineers and designers strive for product excellence. They obsess over shoes, while collaborating, ideating and refining the product's construction, fit and style. Job Description

- Establish and drive footwear tooling engineering best practice.

- Support Global tooling agenda and strategic plans.

- Lead project work to support strategic plans in collaboration with other PMO TE's

- Write Standards and best practices in support of strategic plans.

- Communication to Nike engineering and factory partners on new implemented standards and best practices.

- Provide support across product creation and into manufacturing for tooling related issues.

- Support and provide tooling training in the PMO level.

- Tool costing review when situations arrive that factory cannot meet the standards of MCF.

- Review Tooling files for accuracy that are being uploaded into Tooling Archive Box folder.

- Tooling transfer support if needed to evaluate tooling readiness.

- Support Tooling Maintenance MQAA.

- Tier 2 preferred vendors approvals that involve tooling and tool chemical needs.

- Leverage category, functional, and technical knowledge to influence the product and process for developing and manufacturing footwear.

- Collaborate with NXT to provide manufacturing solution path that brings concepts to life.

- Understand and identify PMO and factory tooling engineering capabilities and gaps.

- Fully understand the MEOF process and provide support to PE/ME org when needed.

- Support Modernization/Automation initiatives of tooling related issue.

- Drive use of data driven process development and project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

- College degree in related technical/engineering field. Additional experience required in lieu of a degree. 

- Minimum 6 years tooling industry experience or combined footwear manufacturing and technical capacity experience.

- Work experience in a mold shop is desired.

Technical Skills

- Critical thinking and analytical skills.

- Demonstrate advanced skills and knowledge of lasts, footwear tooling, basic chemical engineering and various footwear construction processes.

- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of footwear manufacturing machinery and processes.

- Demonstrated understanding of bottom material properties, test methods and applications.

- Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, sketches and digital files in 2D/3D.

Additional Role Requirements

- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload

- Strong communicator (written and verbal) in English and team player (cross-functional)

- Ability to analyze processes, identify gaps and recommend improvements, as needed.

- Travel as needed to support engineering and production initiatives

- Ability to work across cultures and navigate an organization matrix

- Operate independently and in teams
