To ensure this complex job goes off without a hitch, Supply Chain teams work with a network of more than 50 distribution centers, thousands of accountants, and more than 100,000 retail stores worldwide - making the impossible happen every single day.

As the Logistics Service Provider (LSP) Management Director, you will be responsible for working cross-functionally to oversee North America (NA) Transportation service providers. You will foster an environment of growth, retention and accountability with our service partners, leveraging data analytics to create value-added solutions. You will also collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify needs and gaps with existing service providers and oversee the development and implementation of RFIs/RFPs, including the implementation of carrier contracts.

Through your leadership in this position, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with NIKE's strategic partners in support of our on-going business needs. You will partner with NA Transportation leadership to develop and maintain a partner segmentation strategy and host cross-functional business reviews. Business reviews will include performance trend analysis, root cause assessment for favorable/unfavorable performance, opportunities for growth, delivery process and financial improvements, as well as opportunities to drive innovation. You will also partner with the Transportation Strategy and Analytics team to develop consistent tools and reports which will drive increased transparency and measure performance. You will be responsible for ensuring partners are billing accurately and adhering to contracted rate structures, while also confirming that all providers have the appropriate measures in place to ensure NIKE freight is being managed appropriately, including routine audits.

Finally, you will act as the subject matter expert, providing a macro view of industry trends and market pressures. You will partner with NA Transportation Leadership to provide network updates and propose changes to existing rate structures and/or service levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop & maintain meaningful business relationships with LSPs to drive operational performance
  • Inform and implement carrier allocation strategy (operating within the network strategy set by Transportation Strategy)
  • Oversee all contracting and contract management activities for NA LSPs, including contract negotiation, approval, implementation and renewal
  • Oversee performance management of NA LSPs against SLAs using operational data provided by operations teams and financial data
  • Lead a comprehensive LSP scorecard to track LSP compliance, based on process set by Transportation Strategy
  • Track and resolve ongoing carrier and 3PL performance issues escalated by operations team
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with LSPs
  • Oversee Freight Audit & Pay data collection, expectations handling, and root cause analysis
  • Lead LSP top-to-top planning, setting strategic direction and managing relationships with LSP leadership
  • Track industry trends and recommend new opportunities to co-innovate with LSPs


Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related discipline
  • 10+ years of progressive supply chain management experience
    • 2 additional years of experience required in lieu of a degree
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement and/or contract management
  • Background in transportation operations and freight payment management
  • Track record managing a large team with a broad range of experience
  • Experience in developing and overseeing budgets with P&L responsibility
  • Demonstrated experience leading business reviews, including scorecard metrics and relationship management
  • Travel, 25% - 35%

Preferred:
  • Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience navigating highly cross-functional organizations and leading change and communication across multiple stakeholders
