Marketing, Marketing & Communications

The Nike, Inc. Communications team develops, establishes and strengthens authentic connections with diverse audiences through the lens of innovation and sport. The team creates premium and innovative brand stories, builds and enhances corporate reputation and brand equity, and engages audiences such as consumers, media, athletes, investors, non-governmental organizations and Nike's own employees. The team focuses on information, inspiration and connection to accelerate the growth of Nike, Inc. Communications employees ignite conversations, envision the possibilities, and influence and deliver new levels of creative and strategic thinking to advance the brand around the world.
Description

As the brand manager, you will be responsible for pushing the edges of the brand by leveraging the impact of relationships and sport culture to enable new and/or existing audiences. Ultimately, you'll be responsible for creating brand energy to enhance equity and demand for Nike pinnacle products and key stories in NYC & the EAST Coast territory.

As the Nike Energy Marketing Manager in NYC, your key responsibilities will be (but not limited to):

  • Take a lead Brand Marketing role in the creation and execution of seasonal plans, initiatives & products that drive brand energy, fuel consumer demand and strengthen our connection with consumers.
  • Establish objective, strategies, priorities, plans and process, consistent with NYC business and brand goals.
  • Be an amazing teammate and partner across categories and functions to fuel our brand through Influencer Marketing - including (but not limited to) Nike Basketball, Nike Running, Nike Training, Nike Women, Nike Football, Nike Soccer, Sales, Merchandising, Brand Communications, Communications (PR), Influencer Marketing, Entertainment Marketing, Digital Marketing, Retail Brand Marketing and Brand Experience.
  • Spearhead the NYC/East influencer strategy, which includes:
    • Creating and evolving our influencer strategy
    • Maintaining and fostering new relationships with influencers that will take our brand to new places
  • Specialize in knowing the culture of NYC, our consumer and our marketplace.
  • Be in the know - Study, understand and stay current on sneaker, sport, fashion, art, music, design and innovation trends.
  • Live the function: have a strong point of view on digital platforms/commerce and a strong knowledge of the latest trends. Candidates should personally use mobile apps, social media, blogs and wearable tech regularly
  • Lead and continuously mine for consumer insights through relationships, consumer research and focus groups that will help drive a strong category vision, create new consumer experiences, fuel our seasonal/category plans and provide an understanding of our consumer needs and behaviors.
  • Fully understand and be knowledgeable of our Nike collaborators and product, as well as foster great relationships with our collaborators.
  • Contribute to the team's development of strategy, project management, implementation and evaluation for both category and seasonal marketing initiatives.
  • Bring new business / partnership ideas and opportunities to the team.
  • Manage time, people, budget and establishes success criteria, evaluates performance, develop talent bench.



Qualifications
  • 3+ year of experience within branding marketing or related experience in marketing strategy, marketing planning, marketing implementation, retail merchandising, display and events which work within culture, influencer or energy based marketing.
  • LEADERSHIP: Act like a leader. Build relationships in/out of Nike
  • COMMUNICATION: Timely and superior verbal and written communication
  • CITY CENTRIC: From/lives in NYC. Understanding of the city, the nuances and the people & institutions that are pushing this city forward.
  • FASHION/CULTURE KNOWLEDGE: Understands and is entrenched in fashion and culture, specifically where high fashion meets street culture. A deep understanding of collaborators and the world they live/create/operate in.
  • CONNECTOR: The candidate needs to have a strong talent for networking and connecting with creators/visionaries in the city. They need to be able to balance the workload, but also spend time on developing relationships with influencers.
  • CREATIVE: The candidate is inherently creative and can think differently. They are able bring creative ideas to live in a strategic way that can lend in how our marketing plans and activations come to life.
  • SPONGE: The candidate is highly eager to learn and easily teachable. This person needs to be highly functional in a corporate setting, able to lead a season and create strategic plans.
