Description

The Manager of North America Consumer Direct Science drives analytic insights around the three growth principles at Nike; Data driven decisions, Consumer Direct Offense, and lead with North America.  The primary focus will be Marketing Science with a focus on performance marketing.  A successful candidate is someone obsessed with consumer insights, passionate about the science of marketing, and adept at turning large volumes of data into simple insights and recommended actions. The candidate should feel comfortable working with multiple marketing stakeholders and managing multiple deliverables simultaneously. Experience in analytics and modern digital marketing tools and methods is critical to the candidate's success in this role. Superb collaboration and strong communication skills are also essential.

Key responsibilities
  • Work with key partners to deeply understand their business strategies and priorities, actively identifying opportunities where research, analytics and personalization can most powerfully impact consumer experiences and fuel internal decision-making.  
  • Develop marketing media strategy and techniques for personalization of marketing communication and consult and advise marketing and business stakeholders on customer targeting approach best suited to achieve goals
  • Analyse effectiveness of customer targeting and media strategies, incorporating a wide variety of signals, data types and sources, and work with others on the team to assess impact of marketing communications
  • Shape analytics & research plans, developing appropriate quantitative methodologies, and driving the planning and execution of performance marketing strategies
  • Integrate qualitative & quantitative findings to define complete profile of digital marketing effectiveness and consumer needs
  • Drive scalable and data-driven audience selection, targeting and segmentation strategies in partnership with key stakeholders 


Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree required; a focus in marketing, statistics, computer science, econometrics, applied math, or a quantitative behavioral sciences field preferred
  • 5+ years' experience doing quantitative analysis on digital experiences and communication channels
  • Fluency in SQL (Hive) or similar experience in analysing large structured and unstructured datasets
  • An understanding of advanced analytics techniques; competency with statistical packages such as R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, Stata etc.
  • Knowledge of best practices & current trends in digital marketing communication and CRM strategy for retail, digital commerce, or mobile apps preferred
  • Ability to use analytics to understand digital consumer behaviour and identify opportunities to accelerate growth
  • Skilled working with Adobe Analytics (Omniture SiteCatalyst) and Google Analytics 
  • Adept at creative storytelling using data driven insights, and ability to bring complex consumer data to life for marketing and business stakeholders
  • Go-getter with proven experience building positive working relationships and working successfully in cross-functional teams with varied levels of understanding of analytics
