From stores to online, this team helps bring the seasonal category visions to life. The Merchandising team has the unique ability to see beyond trends to identify what's next to deliver the right product to the right places at the right time and price.

The Senior Director for Merchandising Operations drives the development of the Merchandising function through a focus on Operational Excellence and Capability Development, partnering with leaders from across the business and empowering our Merchandising teams to deliver the right product to our consumers.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DELIVERABLES:

- Define strategic priorities for Operations and Capability teams, aligned to priorites of Categories; Design, Product & Merchandising functions as well as Global Product & Merchandising Operations priorities

- Lead and inspire teams to envision how new capabilities can not only enable, but transform how teams work and make decisions in service of our consumers

- Define multiyear capability and product roadmap to address how we leverage data, analytics and technology to make all decisions from concept to consumer

- Run quarterly portfolio (Sprints & Value drops) in service of the Merchandising function

- Encourage prioritization of work based on not only near-term pain points, but longer-term value creation across merchandising and other key functional partners

- Partner with cross-functional partners and leaders to align on most critical priorities and break down barriers that inhibit operations and capability teams from working together

- Refine and improve business engagement model to collect robust input from Design / Prodcut / Merch triads and leadership on capability building and sequencing

- Drive an accelerated move to a more digitally led organization through the rapid adoption of Digital tools, capability and mindset

- Drive consistency and connection across peer organizations in Design & Product

CRITICAL LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:

- Communicates Vision & Purpose: Articulates ambitious vision for how new capablities can transform the way we work and make decisions

- Thinks Strategically: Connects all work to broader strategic initiatives and prioritizes work based on key criteria connected to value creation

- Plans & Aligns: Translates vision, purpose and strategy into detailed multi-season plans for teams to execute against. Manages portfolio of work aligned to x-functional priorities

- Builds Effecitve Teams: Build strong-identity teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals and collaborate effectively. Embraces diversity of thought and debate to get to the best answer for the consumer

- Typically requires a Bachelor Degree and minimum of 10 years directly relevant work experience in Process Improvement, Business Operations and Transformational Change within a retail product environment (or 2 years further work experience in lieu of a degree)

- Experience should include comprehensive experience as a business/process leader or industry expert with direct experience developing an integrated strategy in service of multiple functions

- Experience in portfolio management and agile ways of working

- Understanding of rapidly changing retail landscape and implications to data, analytics and technology requirements to build and sustain competitive advantage

- Demonstrated ability to drive work through formal and informal Matrix channels

- Demonstrated ability to recruit and develop diverse talent

- Demonstrated ability to act without having the total picture. Can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty

- Ability and willingness to partner. Need to make decisions based on what is right for the team, the function and the enterprise overall
