They manage accounting and reporting for Nike's multi-billion-dollar global investment portfolio, debt and equity instruments, and other Treasury activities. They strategize, forecast, audit, analyze, budget, research and lead important decisions. Across Nike's diverse geographies and businesses, Finance employees deliver far more than just the numbers.
Description

As a Payroll Accounting Manager for Nike Trading Company in Singapore you will manage and lead a small team in the shared services payroll accounting team. You will be responsible for managing payroll accounting activities for Nike companies supported out from Trading Company Finance Shared Services Centre. This drive to a shared services platform is envisioned to support the future growth of Nike Inc. 

Responsibilities

(1) People Leadership


  • Manages the day-to-day operations, primarily in the Payroll Accounting space
  • Drives performance management and development of the team member, by ensuring proper resource planning, coaching and performance management.
  • Provides oversight and direction to ensure work performed by the team is accurate, reliable and timely. Support the internal and external audit of controls and substantive balances.


(2) Business Excellence

Policies, Processes and Stakeholders Engagement


  • Lead & Execute the End to End Payroll Accounting process for both local employees and expatriates
  • Execute Month End Close (Compute & Record journals entries cum incentives provision/Perform BSPL flux analysis/Clear & Perform reconciliation/Benefit In Kind Reporting)
  • Support ad-hoc payroll & fringe benefit accounting duties & queries
  • Partner FP&A teams in monthly payroll forecast and annual budgeting
  • Drives and maintains processes and procedures to ensure accounting, reporting and controls are compliance with US GAAP, IFRS and all local tax and statutory reporting requirements
  • Operationalize and document best practices, processes, and controls as well as drive necessary changes in supporting business initiatives
  • Manages and evolves stakeholders' engagement and governance with key Stakeholders, Asia Pacific HR & Global Compensation teams
  • Manages and leads a team to ensure output and quality of services meet stakeholders' expectations and in line with agreed KPIs/SLAs. Champions a metrics-driven culture.
  • Drives or be the Trading Company Finance lead for global and Trading Company Finance initiatives under shared services space.


Requirements for this position include - 

  • Ability to protect and honor the confidentiality & sensitivity of all employee-related information
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and collaboratively with multi-cultural business partners and stakeholders
  • Bachelor/Degree in Accounting & Finance or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of Payroll Accounting experience
  • Knowledge of employment and tax laws/requirements
  • Experience in ERP systems, SAP experience will be favorably considered
