As a Process Development Engineering Director for NXT Engineering and Manufacturing, you will be responsible for leading, driving and inspiring a team of Process Engineers to define and optimize revolutionary new manufacturing processes. The team will drive continuous improvement in process capability, optimize cost drivers and labor efficiency, and provide practical guidance to product design and development teams to enable robust product performance across a diverse range of designs and materials. You will provide technical guidance to the team, manage priorities, and address resource and operation challenges. In addition, you will be responsible for maximizing the potential of the team through consistent mentoring, training, and providing opportunities for their professional development. As a leader of the function, you will collaborate with NXT Engineering leadership to identify and understand the strategic priorities and build a future vision for the Process Development Engineering team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and deploy an efficient workflow to plan, prepare, execute and report-out engineering trials. Review test protocols and reports created by the team and provide feedback with the goal of developing the technical, analytical and communication skills required to be a world-class function.
  • Define the strategy for the Process Development Engineering function and create SMART goals that the team can use to guide their work. Balance the workload across the team and align with stakeholders to prioritize the portfolio.
  • Build operational excellence within Process Engineering team by optimizing SOP's, streamlining key tools and methods across Engineering functions and establishing key metrics.
  • Communicate functional accomplishments, challenges and future plans through data-driven dashboards, reports and presentations.
  • Develop and nurture partnerships with other supporting functions and stakeholders including Cost Engineering, Development, Automation Engineering, Operations, Materials and Design.
  • Collaborate with each team member to develop a customized Individual Development Plan that supports both the business and their career objectives. Provide ongoing coaching to help each team member reach their full potential.
  • Communicate the value of Process Engineering in Product Development by aligning key Process Engineering tools and methodologies across the wider Engineering functions.


WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering or other manufacturing-related degree plus 7 years related experience or Associate's degree in related field plus 8 years related experience or 10 years related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience leading impactful process improvement projects by applying structured problem-solving methodologies. Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of Measurement System Analysis, ANOVA, Design of Experiment and Statistical Process Control theory and practice.
  • Experience working on product creation in an R&D environment preferred.
  • Highly collaborative with a proven ability to influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong skills in data-visualization and data-driven storytelling.
  • Must thrive in an environment of ambiguity and have strong attention to detail
