As the Senior Director of CORE Site Reliability Engineering at Nike, you will inspire a team of SRE's with strong engineering leadership and a passion for increasing system reliability. Nike SRE's are focused on identifying and solutioning for some of the most complex cross domain issues impacting the business. You will drive the reliability of Nike's business critical services in a complex distributed system. You will be directly responsible for the development and implementation of solutions that strive to improve operational KPI's, Mean Time to Detect and Mean Time to Recover. Creating scalable engineering solutions will be at the heart of what you do. As an SRE thought leader you will study and understand SRE industry best practice and help to elevate Nike's status within the broader SRE community. By thoughtfully determining opportunities for reducing toil you will improve the consumer experience and enable our engineering & support organizations to run highly reliable services.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other relevant subject area.
• Minimum 10 years of technical experience with at least 3 years guiding a team
• Diverse and deep experience in support of full stack application and highly distributed systems with high transaction volume
• Experience working in a Distributed/Cloud-based environment (e.g. Amazon EC2, GCE, Rackspace, Azure, etc.).
• Strong foundational knowledge of SRE best practices and prior experience with implementing SRE practices within a team
• Strong understanding of observability tools (SignalFX, Splunk and New Relic) and a tested strategy that simplifies implementation and maximizes monitoring coverage
• Ability to align operations and engineering teams to common goals and drive cross functional collaboration
• Experience leading teams with 24x7 responsibilities and managing the service restoration of critical incidents
• Proven ability to mentor a diverse team of engineers and collaborate with them to deliver high-quality solutions
• Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
