Strategic Planning teams keep the company moving in the right direction by leading the strategic business planning process and spearheading transformational projects across Nike businesses and geographies. Embedded in teams across the company, strategy professionals explore complex business issues; conduct consumer, competitive and market analyses; create financial models and develop action plans. The Strategic Planning teams help write the future of sport by charting Nike's path forward.

As the Senior Director of Global Supply Planning and Inventory Analytics, you will be a critical member of Nike's Global S&IP leadership team. You will work closely with the leader of Global S&IP to understand the team's strategic priorities and translate that into an analytics roadmap. You will lead a team accountable for delivering analytically driven insights to optimize Nike's Global S&IP organization. The role will partner closely with peers within Marketplace Analytics who are leading advanced analytics and data product delivery teams to ensure that requirements from key stakeholders are informing and helping prioritize the roadmaps of these delivery teams. You will apply various data modeling techniques to mine data for the identification of trends that suggest new business and process opportunities.

As a senior member of the analytics community at Nike, you will serve as an evangelist for the power of predictive analysis and develop business cases for presentations to key stakeholders to illustrate demonstrated effectiveness. You will become an invaluable partner to your stakeholders and help catalyze their thinking about what's possible. You will think broadly and creatively about the role of analytics at Nike and how data can be used to help the entire company.

Overall, we are looking for someone who has a strong business acumen with an in-depth knowledge of supply planning. The candidate needs to highly analytical and have extensive technical and project management experience. You must be a self-starter, flexible thinker, and outstanding communicator who is comfortable learning quickly and connecting the dots between disparate methodologies. You will need those skills as you work across multiple functions and geographies within Nike's matrixed organization. Success will depend on your ability to quickly form both professional and personal relationships with colleagues and work towards rigorous, actionable, user-friendly deliverables.

  • Masters in a quantitative degree (Statistics, Decisions Sciences, Computer Science, Economics etc.) or MBA. Academic qualifications specific to supply planning disciplines, such as production planning, buying/inventory optimization, highly preferred.
  • At least 10 years professional experience with a minimum of 8 years in demand or supply planning analytics
  • Experience leading teams, cultivating new leaders and helping analytics professionals grow and advance in their careers
  • Demonstrated ability to develop deep understanding of business drivers and their interrelationship with supply chain performance, and to independently, creatively apply analytics capabilities against the highest priorities
  • Shown ability to sift through data, identify critical information, analyze, develop hypotheses and make recommendations to broader audience
  • Outstanding presentation skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills, including results packaging and development of management presentations
  • Extensive experience synthesizing and packaging complex analyses and delivering results to non-technical audiences including senior leadership teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a large, matrixed organization, successfully influencing others & developing relationships
  • Excellent project management capabilities to develop multiple project streams and complexity; propensity for thinking through projects in a process-oriented way required
  • Expert skill level in Excel and SQL as well as familiarity with R, SAS, or Python. Comfortable in Cognos. Tableau and familiarity with big data environments is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in developing an understanding of customers, competitors and retail trends; knowledge of sports apparel and footwear market preferred
  • Familiarity with Nike product types and how they are marketed and distributed to accounts is strongly preferred
