Description

Nike is looking for a highly motivated, self- directed candidate to fill our SR. Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) Technology role for the support of the North American Network of Distribution Centers. The candidate will be expected to work hand in hand with our Operations, Maintenance, WCS Vendors, and other Nike Technology teams to ensure the smooth operation of our WCS systems within the facilities. You will receive business requirements and turn those into project plans, designs, functional and technical specifications, test scripts and implementation plans. You will work with solutions teams to document and sign off on complex testing activities to validate changes prior to their promotion into production. You will be responsible for knowledge transfer of said changes in processes and functionalities of environment to WCS team members. 

You will also troubleshoot and communicate effectively on varying degrees of production support severity incidents with operations, maintenance, IT and vendor partners with the goal of minimizing downtime and impact to Nike's revenue. You will develop, maintain and ensure standards, processes and policies are in place and adhered to within the department. You will work closely with North American IT personnel and management to provide input with regards to status, change and problem management and suggestions for improvements to standards, processes and policies. You will work closely with your WMS counterpart to provide knowledge transfer of WCS and also to receive knowledge transfer of WMS. You will be the face of WCS to the business and operations teams, and acting as the Subject Matter Guide in the WCS team.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or related and 6 years' experience with WCS integration in a distribution center environment.
  • Strong leadership and technical skills.
  • Strong Project Management skills.
  • Strong and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work in project and production support models with a diverse group of individuals across multiple departments.
  • Very strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with conveyor and sortation technologies.
  • Strong technical background with multiple system interfaces
  • Strong Knowledge and experience with Network infrastructure and hardware.
  • Strong documentation skills for project and production support life cycle projects and tasks.
  • Strong problem identification and solving skill set.
  • Ability to work with the business and operations in identifying and prioritizing contending requests in order to provide the maximum value to the business.
  • Ability to identify, document and rationalize enhancements to improve productivity and labor costs.
  • Strong business acumen to quickly learn new business processes and understand how IT needs to support the business in achieving revenue and profit goals.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented and sometimes highly stressful environment.
  • Complete schedule flexibility for Project and Production Support activities.
  • Experience and knowledge supporting application, database and systemic side of Warehouse Control and MHE unit sortation systems.
  • Experience and knowledge of WCS implementations and integration to Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Knowledge and experience working in Databases a plus..
  • Working knowledge of Manhattan's WMoS platforms a plus.
  • Technical knowledge of Beumer, Wynright and/or Intelligrated Crisplant WCS and sortation systems a plus
