As Global Social Strategist, you live and breathe social, digital storytelling, and editorial excellence. In this role, you'll be the heartbeat of social within the Hurley organization, responsible for guiding the editorial calendar, strategy and best practices across all platforms.

Responsibilities:
  • You'll be responsible for communicating content strategy to key stakeholders and working cross-functionally across creative, product, performance marketing and digital teams to accomplish your goals.
  • You'll bring ideas to the table constantly that reimagine what's possible through social and will constantly push the envelope from a conceptual and editorial standpoint.
  • You'll be the point of contact for all external content creators and will brief these partners on asset needs to ensure a high-level and constant content stream.
  • You'll define strategies to help the Hurley brand leverage their incredible athlete team, at times helping the athletes themselves optimize their social.
  • You'll work as liaison to partners at Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to ensure that Hurley remains on the cutting edge of platform innovation.
  • You obsess social. You love the Hurley brand. And you want to do game-changing things with the most innovative surf company in the world.  



Qualifications
  • College degree (B.A. or B.S.), preferably in communications or marketing. Educational requirement may be substituted with equivalent industry-related business experience
  • 2-3 years experience and superior knowledge in social media landscape, trends, networks and toolset
  • 1 year experience in a marketing position (experience writing for marketing purposes preferred)
  • Expert surf industry and product knowledge a plus
  • Engaged and connected in the category community
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with specific experience interacting with bloggers and other social media influencers in a creative and compelling way
  • Ability to read, speak and understand English
  • Excellent business writing skills
  • Excellent understanding of social media communication styles
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and/or in a diverse team environment
  • Capability of making sound business decisions and quickly understanding new information and situations
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize a varied workload
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills, analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to reach mutually beneficial conclusions
  • Strong team and customer service orientation
  • Ability to sit at a desk for long periods of time
  • Ability to work weekends and flexible hours
  • Overnight and/or out of town travel may occasionally be required
