Needed to assess a well-defined problem and lead the development of a technical solution that meets the needs of the business and aligns with architectural standards in Beaverton, OR. Will conduct ongoing analysis of organizational needs and objectives and monitor operating efficiency. Will implement and propose any necessary changes to ensure effective performance of an installed system/subsystem. Will lead design sessions and facilitate the integration of ideas from colleagues. Will manage small to moderate-sized solutions, and play a key role on larger teams. Will work within the parameters of two to three sprints. Will provide direction to team members and vendors. Will provide leadership within the squad/work team, with accountability for ensuring that work is on track (e.g., driving backlog refinement), meets required functionality, delivers an effective user experience, and accounts for upstream and downstream interdependencies. Will ensure that delivered solutions integrate effectively with adjacent solutions/technologies. Will provide guidance and development support to more junior team members. Will ensure knowledge sharing within the team (e.g., ensures accurate documentation and updates blogs). Will present and share work with colleagues for mutual review and education (e.g., after action review, root cause analysis, lunch and learn, brown bags, and demos). Will advise product owners on discrete technology-related business problems; formulate options, including assessing their relative merits and risks; and work with product owners to determine the best solution. Will form productive networks with stakeholders. Will engage in distributed system design and web service design. Will engage in web service development with JVM technologies. Will provide operational systems automation. Will engage in software change management, source control, and review. Will use SQL and NoSQL databases. Will engage in continuous integration and delivery. Will use Agile development methodologies and Amazon Web Services.

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or engineering. Will also accept a Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or engineering. Experience: Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in software design and development. Will also accept a master's and one year of experience in software design and development. Skills/Requirements: 6 months of experience: (1) SQL database; (2) Java; (3) Agile development methodology; (4) web service design and development with JVM technologies; (5) operational systems automation; (6) software change control management, source control, and review; (7) continuous integration and delivery; (8) Amazon Web Services; and (9) troubleshooting production issues.
