Nike Smart Systems Engineering envisions, develops, and commercializes digitally enabled and connected products that serve the athlete. We are looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer with experience building data applications to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with data scientists and machine learning engineers to design and build infrastructure that transforms and analyzes data at scale. By applying your knowledge of data models, scalable pipelines, execution frameworks, and cloud infrastructure, you will design an architecture, write code, build tests, organize data, and lead others to enable large scale data processing. Insights derived from the tools you build will directly impact the direction of product development.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Architect the data processing infrastructure used to evaluate the performance of machine learning algorithms at scale - Design data models for optimal storage and retrieval of time series sensor data, event labels, system logs, and aggregate metrics - Evaluate and choose the tools for building and automating scalable data science workflows - Automate data quality monitoring, ETL operations, and testing
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience - 8+ years of relevant industry experience - Experience designing, building, and maintaining data processing pipelines for machine learning - Demonstrated experience and an opinion about data science infrastructure tools - Working knowledge of SQL, Python, relational databases, and cloud infrastructure - Excellent documentation and communication skills - Excellent presentation, problem solving, and time-management skills are required - Available for occasional late-afternoon/evening conference calls
