As a Senior Data Visualization Developer, you will build data visualizations and executive level dashboards to be leveraged by business leadership and business analysts to gain insights across the marketplace.

You will evolve the existing landscape of reporting and propel critical information needs through robust business and data comprehension and cross-functional partnership. In this diverse role, areas of focus include (1) developing new leadership level dashboards for daily utilization, (2) advancing the landscape of existing reporting to new reporting tools, (3) building and leading the distribution of push reporting, (4) working with engineers to communicate the data architecture required for dashboard and report design, and (5) creating self-service and ad-hoc data products for users of all levels.

This role will be vital in shaping the landscape by which Marketplace Analytics interacts with and leverages data, as each release broadens available data sets and expands analytics self-serve capabilities.

You are a data evangelist with plenty of hands-on development experience and a comprehensive understanding of data architecture. In your daily work, you actively seek the most effective path forward, and are insistent on progress. You are equally comfortable working in a relational data store and a "big data" cloud eco-system. You gain a sense of accomplishment through empowering reporting and analytics, are on top of business intelligence trends, and recognize the full potential of data visualization to inform business opportunities. To you, the importance of value-based solutions, incremental progress, and failing fast is clear, and you can demonstrate how each of these helps to drive business results. You will be at the heart of Nike's critical planning business and will help the team make decisions that will drive performance and efficiencies that directly leading to the accomplishment of annual goals.

Responsibilities:

Build and deploy data visualization reports, dashboards and insights within a focused area of the Nike business value stream to enable business decisions, drive performance and lead to the accomplishment of annual goals

Implement robust data visualization and dashboarding solutions that help the business leverage/operationalize analytical insights to drive performance

Project lead and deliver large visualization projects with multiple business stakeholders on firm deadlines

Lead development and ongoing management of tools and processes, establishing metrics to monitor plans and communicate critical reports

Utilize expertise to collaborate with key partners to understand requirements for reports and interactive dashboards, drive knowledge into action and support data driven decision making

Work independently and take initiative to identify, explore and solve problems

Document and communicate systems/analytics changes to the business, translating complex functionality into business relevant language

Keep current on data visualization technology and best practices

Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering and/or related field.

One of the following alternatives may be accepted: PhD or Law + 3 yr; Masters + 4 yrs; Associates + 6 yrs; High School + 7 yrs exp

Advanced quantitative degree a plus

5 years of relevant experience developing dashboards, data visualizations and self-service tools

Experience in leveraging data visualization and dashboarding techniques to make complex data more accessible, understandable and usable to drive business decisions and outcomes

Experience with data extraction and analysis technologies such as Tableau, Power BI, SAS, QlikView, SQL or similar tools

Demonstrable ability to sift through data, identify critical information, analyze, develop hypotheses and make recommendations required

Ability to collaborate with key partners to understand/identify requirements, drive knowledge into action and support data driven decision making

Strong ability to lead and/or work on cross-functional teams and provide project management support

Experience in definition of new measures, and the translation of business goals into quantitative metrics and reporting

Ability to work independently requiring minimal direction, execute large projects following established guidelines/procedures and take initiative to explore and solve problems

Good understanding of key topics in marketing science, data science, and applied analytics as well as emerging trends in market research, consumer insights, ecommerce, digital marketing, and mobile app development

Proficient with Excel; experience with a statistical package is a plus (such as R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, Stata, etc.)
