As a System Architect in Nike's Finance and Procurement Technology (FPT) organization, you will drive functional architecture across multiple Finance products and Agile delivery teams to meet the financial planning, performance management, data management, and governed reporting needs of Nike's Finance organization. You will be part of a team that is committed to delivering value through modern, streamlined enterprise solutions enabling key financial planning processes and financial insights through access to data and information. Working closely with the product teams in FPT as well as with our Enterprise Architecture, Next Gen Platforms, Enterprise Engineering, and Geography Technology teams, you will be accountable for the architectural runway critical to successful Agile execution. You will be part of the senior product leadership team, responsible for key decisions in how solutions are designed to meet the needs of our future state planning and reporting landscape.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop architecture roadmap in support of Finance products to ensure effective Agile delivery of the product leveraging Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Understand the business objectives of Finance leadership and the solution context to maximize business value and return on investment
  • Partner with Enterprise architecture to leverage, support, and influence domain roadmaps, reference architectures, and enterprise platforms
  • Maintain a high level of expertise in the Enterprise Tax and Consumer Direct Tax technologies across Nike; including but not limited to SAP AFS / S4, SAP-BW, Indirect/Direct Purchasing (Coupa, Concur), 3rd party tax engines (OneSource), and more
  • Consult and advise on best practices for Tax reporting, Financial Reporting, and General Ledger Accounting setups
  • Keep current on emerging and mature industry trends across enterprise-class Enterprise tax technologies to inform product roadmaps and ensure best-in-class solutions approaches
  • Identify opportunities for proofs of concept to support application and platform modernization
  • Maintain global application inventory and roadmaps on a continuous basis to reflect current strategies, maximize leverage, and minimize application overlap
  • Act as a change agent within technology and in a consultative role to business partners to evolve the Nike planning processes


WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems
  • 8+ years of full lifecycle direct and indirect tax solution delivery experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on tax solution development
  • 3+ years of experience integrating tax classification and tax code determination systems and applications across a global enterprise
  • Preferred experience developing AI/machine learning monitored/enhanced predicative financial forecasting models
  • 3+ years working in an Agile delivery operating model
  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance/accounting, supply chain, sales, inventory management and product tax structure
  • Working knowledge of external tax engine functionality (OneSource, Vertex, Avalara)
  • Solid understanding of integration technologies and patterns, in particular API integration.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications. Able to articulate complex technology and business intersections at all levels from engineer to C-level
  • Able to influence multiple stakeholders and levels of the organization
  • Experience working in a large, multi-national organization with global led, geo deployed offense
