To ensure this complex job goes off without a hitch, Supply Chain teams work with a network of more than 50 distribution centers, thousands of accountants, and more than 100,000 retail stores worldwide - making the impossible happen every single day.
Description

As the Training Area Manager for the Adapt DC, you will lead the initial training scope and exploration for this new distribution center (DC). Leveraging current North America Supply Chain (NASC) DC training principles and modalities, you will identify the learning needs and utilize the larger NASC Training and Development team to develop competency-based process and systems training that will support this new DC. You will shape and refine the learning delivery/implementation strategy, ensuring it is aligned with business needs. Additionally, you will lead the selection, development, certification, evaluation, and management of the Trainer Network supporting the Adapt DC and ensure that training is implemented in a consistent and repeatable manner. You will own the creation, publication, and communication of all training calendars. You will manage all delivery logistics (training logistics, materials, equipment set up, etc.) in partnership with the Learning Network Coordinators. You will maintain all class/course enrollment, attendance, and assessment records and provide routine reporting of results to Training and Development/Adapt DC leadership, including recommendations for improvement and action plans. You will regularly communicate with Adapt DC Leadership, Operations, Engineering, Tech, Facilities/Maintenance, Lean (NLS)/Process Excellence, DC Trainers and members of the Training and Development - Instructional Design/Development team regarding process improvements, training content updates, evaluations, new training needs, etc. You will regularly collaborate with NikeU counterparts. You will coach and mentor DC Trainers as it relates to your role with ensuring delivery implementation excellence. You will perform other duties as assigned.

This Nike Memphis network-based position requires an person who is self-driven and goal oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality and customer service. This individual is a natural forward planner who critically assesses their own performance. They must be reliable, resilient, and able to deal with ambiguity and change. Additionally, this person must be a strategic, effective communicator as well as able to see things from multiple points of view. A key element for success is being team-focused.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years relevant work experience
  • 2 additional years in lieu of a degree
  • 2+ years managing training programs
  • 2+ years project management experience
  • Experience within a distribution or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Broad business exposure and direct experience in implementation of business change and process improvement initiatives
  • Ability to use sound decision making and problem solving/resolution skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - with ability to tailor message to audience
  • Instructional Design/Development skills/knowledge preferred
  • High competency with PC, MS Office - Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Project
  • Excellent analytical, investigative, interpersonal, written, and communicative skills
  • Excellent organizational influence and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent team orientation, confidentiality, and ability to influence
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience in driving consensus across teams
  • Sufficiently flexible to travel to other Nike Memphis network DC facilities
  • Available to work flexible schedule when needed to accommodate all shifts in all DCs
  • Ability to translate technical information to non-users
