The Global Fulfillment & Logistics Solutions team needs an IT Operations and Technical Engineer to join a highly skilled strategic development team delivering highly scalable technology solutions in support of Nike's global supply chain.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

- Optimize the capability of the IT infrastructure and services to deliver cost effective and sustained level of application availability.

- Develop complex tools and processes in the support of continuity management.

- Execute tests for system continuity.

- Design, test, and implementing monitoring tools and processes.

- Write procedures to respond to results so system issues are brought to resolution.

- Collect metrics over a long term for trending.

- Perform complex work to install hardware and software taking proactive steps to assure success.

- Devise processes and procedures for applying and maintaining security settings and user access based on technology platform.

- Recommend improvements as indicated based on analysis of current techniques and perceived imperfections.

- Maintain Manhattan Warehouse Management for Open Systems (WMOS), Supply Chain Intelligence (SCI) with bundled Cognos 10/11, Manhattan Integration Framework (MIF), Labor Management (LM) and Slotting.

- Work on complex database projects at advanced level ensuring data consistency and integrity.

- Provide technical design, development and maintenance of databases and associated master files for accessibility, security and integrity of company data.

- Monitor system administration activities and track data replication processes performed on database servers.

- Support and troubleshoot production, development and testing of applications and databases that support global client and server applications.

- Utilize database and software scripting languages for Linux operating systems, including Bash shell, AWK, Sed, and Perl.

- Perform capacity planning. Review system trends, measuring system initiatives, and sizing production environment based on organizational demands and future plans.

- Coordinate with warehouse management, OPS, network, and business teams, and system administrators to resolve issues and perform routine maintenance for WMS and DB servers.

- Monitor application and database performance, tuning, planning and problem resolution.

- Configure application for best performance to improve response times.

• 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator in REDHAT Linux, SUSE Linux, CentOS, Oracle Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu, AWS Cloud and experienced DevOps Engineer.
• Knowledge in building infrastructure using AWS for virtual private cloud (VPC).
• Knowledge and experience in deployment and management through AWS cloud formation on EC2 instances and maintaining Amazon S3 storage and data archival in Glacier.
• Expertise in configuring Apache Web Servers and WebSphere, WebLogic and Tomcat Application servers on Amazon EC2 AMI and configured EC2 load balancing to provide redundancy and uptime.
• Expertise in configuring AWS EC2 Elastic Block Store to meet store to meet storage demands and configure storage availability.
• Expertise in Installation, Configuration, Integration, Tuning, Backup, Disaster recovery, Upgrades, Patching, Monitoring System Performance, System and Network Security and Troubleshooting of RHEL 5.0/6.0/7.0, OEL 5.0/6.0 and Centos 5.0/6.0 Servers.
• Experience in supporting and implementing security on RHEL using SELinux, IPtables and using PAM authentication.
• Utilized AWS to set up Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) for Management, Production and Testing environments with customer operational requirements and parameters (e.g., internet gateway, subnets, elastic IP, and Security Groups)
• Writing and modifying of shell/python scripts for automation of systems, applications and backups.
• Some knowledge and experience on DevOps concepts, tools and technologies like Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Docker, AWS, GIT etc.
• Experience in analyzing memory leaks, JVM heap settings and tuning in JBoss, Tomcat Application Server.
• Performance Monitoring, resolving network issues & Tuning the system using tools such as - top, iostat, vmstat, netstat, nfsstat, truss, sar, ndd, ethtool, Dtrace, Strace.
• Resolving escalated tickets, performance problems and creating Root Cause Analysis (RCA) document on Severity level issues.
• Good Interpersonal Skills, team-working attitude, takes initiatives and very proactive in solving problems and providing best solutions.
