WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH 
You will work closely with the GM, Product lead, Nike Sports Research Lab lead, Engineering and Design teams, Program Management and Finance, to bring safe and reliable products to market. You will work across the Nike matrix to build support from product safety functions across the company. 

 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR 
We are looking for a Reliability & Safety Lead to join a newly formed team developing innovative, powered athlete products.  

 

WHAT YOU BRING 

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of relevant education, experience, or training 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 10+ years of relevant industry experience. 

  • Proven experience in delivering multiple reliable products to the marketplace. 

  • Demonstrated experience in product safety. 

  • Deep understanding of reliability and statistical methods 

  • Experience with Weibull analysis, FMEA, Shainin, and Six Sigma a plus. 

  • Experience with hazard-based safety analysis. 

  • Positive energy, curiosity, and a passion for building magical products that users love. 

  • Bias to action and progress over perfection mentality. 

  • Strong technical savvy and understanding/curiosity about emerging innovative technologies. 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous learning is core to our identity. 

  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves to win as a team. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON 
As Reliability & Safety Lead, you will play a critical role in driving the execution of our powered athlete product roadmap. You will be responsible for all reliability and safety plans, tests, and metrics for powered athlete products.  

 

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL 

  • Help determine reliability requirements for complex electromechanical systems. 

  • Provide creative solutions for validating system reliability throughout the product development process and beyond. 

  • Lead correlation of lab-based test failure modes and rates with wear testing results.  

  • Use predictive modeling and analytical techniques (including Weibull analysis) to determine reliability performance. 

  • Determine reliability and confidence of products across multiple iterations and generations of products, measuring at the system and sub-system level. 

  • Design creative test strategies to minimize test time and sample sizes required to meet targets. 

  • Champion product safety using hazard-based analysis to assess system safety.  

  • Provide technical leadership to a team of test analysists to ensure product reliability and safety. 

  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, researchers, and other experts to deliver magical products.
