WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As Sport Merchants, everything begins and ends with consumer – understanding consumer needs and market capacity to create the right product mix for GC marketplace and driving future vision of Jordan. The Lead Merchant, Streetwear, FW Icon, Jordan GC has the unique ability to balance art and science, see beyond current trends to identify future trends and for this role specifically, to build and unlock Jordan Icon opportunity in GC. Working closely with cross functional partners to drive strategies of Jordan in GC and deliver seamless experience. This role is focused on Geo level product line planning and portfolio management, as the key person between global and geo cross functional team to drive product vision landing in the marketplace
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
In this role, you will lead geo needs on Jordan Iconic Franchaises. You will lead and influence lifestyle icons such as AJ1 and Retro Franchaises to key seasonal Performance products along with future white spaces yet to be defined; these will be the most coveted products within our portfolio. You will also be responsible for the growth and enterprise thinking. You will also collaborate with Global merchandising, sales, business integrations, planning and brand marketing from line planning through handoff to the marketplace teams. A strong candidate will bring the following skills:
- Lead Jordan Icon business and responsible for driving integrated, profitable, relevant Consumer right product line aligned to Global vision with Geo right strategy.
- Identify and articulate market & consumer needs with consistency and data support.
- Ensure product hitting GC consumer needs in terms of product lifecycle, material, color, fit and design aesthetic with strategy backed approach.
- Communicate product strategy to stakeholders and drives consistent premium consumer experience. Own and lead seasonal gates and deliveries including: hind sighting, insights & marketplace analysis, line planning, module prioritization. Work closely with global and GC cross functional teams to ensure right product execution, investment and storytelling to consumers and driving vision of Jordan brand
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in merchandising or a related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience & training.
- 5+ Years of experience in Merchandising, Product Creation or Sales.
- Be able to manage conflict and reach resolutions. Identify and resolve complex technical and operational problems
- Experience in a cross functional work environment, project management or matrix organization, being able to work independently while still be a good team player.
- Ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives, network, influence, and utilize internal and external resources as well as demonstrated leadership capability, including the ability to inspire and mentor others within a work group.
- Fully proficient in product merchandising, strong retail acumen, marketplace knowledge, consumer knowledge, strategic line planning with science and art.
- Fluent in English. Strong verbal & written communication skill to facilitate conversation, contribute POV, to lead and influence.
- Strong presentation skill to deliver product insights/details & assortment strategy to cross functional team
