WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

Materials are critical to product excellence and supply chain performance. We are looking for a Manager, Footwear Material Source Options (MSO) to lead the development and integration of multi-sourced material needs that strengthen Nike's supply chain goals of resilience, responsiveness, and cost.

As the Manager, FW MSO, you will lead a team responsible for delivering supply chain priorities through material strategies, executable development plans, and scalable adoption pathways. You will connect material development to business impact by ensuring source options are not only developed and commercialized, but also elevate supply base capabilities and ensure successful integration into Nike's manufacturing ecosystem.

The ideal candidate combines strong material development expertise with strategic thinking, operational discipline, and the ability to influence across a complex network of internal and external partners. You are skilled at navigating ambiguity, leveraging data and analytics, aligning diverse stakeholders, driving organizational change, and building the capabilities required to scale new solutions across the business.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • You will lead the Footwear MSO team in delivering material source options that enable supply chain resilience, localization, capacity flexibility, cost competitiveness, and adoption at scale.

  • Alongside your team, you will oversee the end-to-end development and commercialization of material source options, ensuring solutions meet Nike's expectations for quality, cosmetics, performance, cost, and commercial viability. You will help prioritize work against business needs, ensure healthy execution of seasonal and long-range objectives, and drive alignment across stakeholders to deliver impactful outcomes.

  • You will partner closely with Sourcing, Product Creation, Costing, Product Integrity, and Supply Chain teams to align priorities, evolve processes, and ensure successful adoption of approved source options.

  • You will work directly with material suppliers and Footwear manufacturing partners to strengthen capabilities, improve development performance, resolve challenges, and scale solutions that meet Nike's evolving business needs.

  • You will also help evolve the MSO ways-of-working by improving operational rigor, governance, communication practices, calendar, tool utilization, data integrity, and cross-functional processes that enable the function to scale effectively.

  • Through leadership and coaching, you will develop a high-performing team capable of delivering both immediate business needs and long-term organizational priorities.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

This role reports to the Director, Footwear Material Source Options (MSO) and Material Manufacturing Engineering (MME) and manages a team of Footwear Material Developers and Analyst.

You will work closely with partners across Sourcing, Product Creation, Product Integrity, Costing, Supplier Management, and additional Supply Chain functions to align priorities and drive successful material adoption.

Externally, you will engage with material suppliers and FW manufacturing partners to support development execution, capability building, performance improvement, and long-term partnership success.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in materials development, product creation, manufacturing, supply chain, sourcing, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of materials and footwear is preferred.
  • Experience managing complex projects and priorities across a matrixed organization.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and influencing skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and comfort operating through ambiguity and change.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
  • Experience using data and insights to guide decisions and improve business processes.
  • Passion for developing talent, fostering inclusion, and building a strong team culture.
  • Ability to travel as required.
