Nike Local Creation GC is one of the fastest product engines at Nike, enabling designers to connect with geo-specific consumers quickly and effectively. Reporting to the Local Creation Design organization, this role focuses on creating inspiring products tailored to specific marketplaces and geographic audiences, capturing fast-moving trends and delivering regionally relevant narratives with flexibility and speed. Local Creation team's mission is to amplify and incubate new ideas while driving and extending consumer favorites, serving local consumers with executions that offer greater relevance and immediacy. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Senior Designer, Footwear Graphic Design, Local Creation GC who can independently create compelling, locally relevant graphic expressions across footwear products and collections.

The ideal candidate has a distinct creative voice, advanced graphic craft, strong product instincts, and a deep understanding of Greater China consumers and visual culture. They can move from insight to narrative, from narrative to graphic system, and from concept to manufacturable execution.

The Senior Designer owns complex projects and is expected to make sound decisions with limited direction. While this is not a formal people-management role, the designer should model strong creative practice, offer guidance to junior teammates, and contribute positively to team culture.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Manager, Footwear Graphic Design, Local Creation GC.

You will collaborate with:

  • GC Footwear and Apparel Design, Color & Materials, and Graphics

  • GC Product Management, Merchandising, Development, and Marketing

  • Performance category and sport partners

  • Global and Geo Design counterparts

  • Legal and intellectual property partners

  • Material developers, vendors, manufacturers, and external creative partners

  • Consumer insights and marketplace teams

  • Design Integration and digital workflow partners

You’ll also engage with external vendors and suppliers to bring your designs to life, ensuring alignment with Nike’s brand standards and regional consumer expectations.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, Communication Design, Footwear Design, Fashion Design, or a related field preferred.

  • Equivalent professional experience and training will be considered.

Experience and Capabilities:

  • 4+ years of relevant design experience.

  • A portfolio demonstrating advanced graphic design, visual storytelling, product application, and execution.

  • Strong knowledge of typography, illustration, branding, print, pattern, trims, color, composition, and graphic systems.

  • Strong understanding of footwear expression, graphic application methods, manufacturing, and commercialization.

  • Strong understanding of Greater China consumers, visual culture, marketplace signals, and emerging creative communities.

  • Ability to independently manage work from brief through final production.

  • Ability to translate cultural and consumer insight into design without relying on surface-level references.

  • Strong presentation and verbal communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of legal and intellectual property considerations in product graphics.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

  • Experience with 3D and AI-enabled visualization tools such as Vizcom, and collaborative tools such as Miro.

  • Ability to travel as required by the role.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

As the Senior Designer, Footwear Graphic Design, Local Creation GC, you will:

  • Own graphic design for complex GC footwear projects from initial insight through final execution.

  • Create original artwork, branding, typography, trims, prints, patterns, engineered graphics, and product details.

  • Translate Greater China consumer, sport, city, cultural, and marketplace insights into authentic graphic stories.

  • Develop clear narratives and graphic systems that can extend across individual products, collections, or head-to-toe expressions.

  • Adapt global and seasonal creative direction for the GC consumer while maintaining Nike brand integrity.

  • Establish a distinct creative point of view and explore multiple creative solutions before refining a final direction.

  • Work closely with Footwear and Apparel Color and Material, Graphic Designers to integrate graphics into the full product expression.

  • Build presentations and communicate design intent to partners and leadership.

  • Develop graphic schematics and production-ready artwork in partnership with Development.

  • Review samples, strike-offs, trims, prints, and prototypes, and resolve execution issues through commercialization.

  • Consider application method, material behavior, scale, placement, cost, legal requirements, and production feasibility.

  • Manage multiple projects, seasonal tracks, handoffs, and deadlines with growing independence.

  • Submit or support required legal and intellectual property review materials.

  • Share expertise, provide constructive critique, and help junior designers strengthen craft and product thinking.

  • Contribute to graphic libraries, templates, tools, workflows, and creative standards. Ensure appropriate review and completion of graphic schematics, artwork specifications, trim specifications, legal submissions, and related product files.
