The GC Jordan Digital Senior Manager role is responsible for the GC Jordan digital assortment plan. The role partners with Jordan Merchandising leaders, Jordan cross functional partners and GC Nike Direct Digital platform leaders and planning team to plan, build and trade consumer right assortments.
Who We Are Looking For
We’re looking for consumerists with an affinity for product that enjoy the energy of moving at the pace of the consumer and digital retail. A successful Merchandising Senior Manager will thrive and contribute to an inclusive, positive, and progressive team dynamic, as well as manage and lead in a way that elevates the total team.
This role is responsible for building consumer right assortments for the digital marketplace, leveraging historical data, analytics and real-time market feedback to inform the future (coming seasons) while winning today (trading real-time). Furthermore, this role will be influencing the product merchandising strategy for Jordan sports and streetwear. This role will also be taking quick reactions to “emerging opportunity” of sports and trends.
The candidate should possess solid retail acumen and analytical abilities and a solid understanding of retail environments starting with digital. They are comfortable overseeing and advising the work of individual contributors within a structured coaching framework, in addition to being a leader among their peers!
What You Will Work On
You will on-board the seasonal plans including product assortment strategy, flow, consumer journey, and key moments plans including Sports, Consumer and Retail moments. You will understand related aspects of the business and marketplace in making your plans, including coordinating between merch, brand team, planning team and digital platform teams.
You’ll build consumer-centric assortment plans across Nike own eco-system, Tmall, JD, DY with an understanding of the platform position in the market, blending fact-based and intuitive inputs. You will participate in seasonal reviews, submits and trading for your respective area. This includes assortment building and submits working with Associate Merchants and system entry. Merchandising Senior manager may also lead projects across teams or topics.
You will lead the geo seasonal product hindsight with intelligence on product opportunities from digital marketplace.
You will balance multiple seasons and your insights will contribute to future seasonal line plan and adoption by supporting Jordan Sports Merchandising Leadership upstream (25%). You will manage your areas of assortment planning in depth during the seasonal process (50%) and gather insights from and support optimal trading of in-market seasons (25%)
Who You Will Work With
We work closely with fellow merchants and cross-functional teams within the digital marketplace team, Jordan and Nike merchant partners, and Jordan Planning, Marketing, and Jordan Direct teams. We also work with the insights/analytics, finance teams and fulfill teams for responsive projects; The business reporting for your area includes quantitative and qualitative metrics on sales, inventory and consumer behaviors.
What You Bring
- Requires Bachelor’s Degree or additional 2 years experience in lieu of degree
- 8 years experience in footwear or apparel merchandising, product creation and/or retail in a vertical, multi-brand or digital environment
- Footwear, Apparel, Equipment or relevant consumer product merchandising experience
- Understanding of & affinity for sports, trends and fashion
- Strong command of common retail and/or digital profit-based metrics such as sell-through, turn, ASP, UPT and others
- Command of analytics portals
- Multi-channel, cross concept on & offline experience
- Ability to contribute to and drive thinking into breakthrough strategies
- Ability to demonstrate leadership among peer group, inclusive of coaching and mentoring of teammates.
- Agility & process management in ambiguity
