WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

The Software Engineer II is part of Nike’s Store Experience Engineering organization and works with product managers, architects, quality engineers, infrastructure, security, privacy and globally distributed engineering teams. The role reports to an engineering leader and helps deliver reliable front-of-house point-of-sale and back-of-house store-management capabilities.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Nike is looking for a Software Engineer II who combines strong iOS development skills with an ownership mindset and a disciplined approach to quality. The candidate is comfortable building and supporting business-critical mobile applications in a global retail environment, translating requirements into maintainable solutions, and investigating complex issues across application code, payments, hardware and dependent services. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with Swift, modern iOS architecture, automated testing, CI/CD, and production observability. They communicate clearly, identify technical and quality risks early, and collaborate effectively across Product, Engineering, Architecture, and Operations. Experience with point-of-sale, payment, fiscal or hardware-integrated solutions is valuable, along with responsible use of AI-assisted engineering tools.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, mobile application development, quality engineering, or a comparable technical role.
  • Hands-on iOS development experience with Swift. Working knowledge of Swift UI and Objective-C is beneficial.
  • Experience with unit, UI, integration, regression and end-to-end testing, including development and maintenance of test automation.
  • Strong debugging, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with working knowledge of Git, CI/CD, DevOps, Agile delivery, mobile security and privacy practices.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You will design, build, test, and support iOS point-of-sale capabilities used in Nike Stores. You will own features from requirement clarification through production support, while improving application reliability, performance, security, testability and operational readiness across global store environments.

  • You will develop maintainable Swift/Swift UI solutions across cart, checkout, payments, receipts and store integrations, following modern mobile architecture and Apple Human Interface Guidelines.
  • You will create unit, UI, integration and regression tests, automate appropriate scenarios, and ensure hardware-dependent journeys receive thorough hands-on validation.
  • You will troubleshoot complex failures using Xcode, application logs and observability tools such as New Relic or Splunk, driving issues through root-cause analysis and resolution.
  • You will partner with product owners to clarify requirements, shape MVP scope, estimate work, identify risks, and support realistic delivery and release plans.
  • You will collaborate with Architecture, Infrastructure, Privacy, Security, and geographically distributed engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable and supportable solutions.
  • You will contribute to Agile and DevOps practices, monitor production health, improve release readiness, and use tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor responsibly to enhance engineering productivity and code quality.
