WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Sr. Professional, Communications, Platform Content & Production role will act as the engine that helps fuel our One Publishing content strategy, engaging and inspiring media, consumers and NIKE, Inc. employees and stakeholders around the world in innovative ways. The role will lead the operational strategy for planning, producing, publishing and post-publish evaluating our editorial content on our Communications-owned channels, including about.nike.com, the Nike LinkedIn handle and our internal employee platforms. This person will deftly organize and orchestrate with the One Publishing Team to ensure efficiency and clarity.
The ideal candidate is a proven content manager, producer and self-starter, driven and passionate about helping create dynamic editorial stories that push boundaries. They are dedicated to contributing to a strong team dynamic, leading with trust, inclusion and empathy, and value team success through collaboration. They are detail-oriented and with outstanding prioritization skills and a sharp eye for strong editorial work.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will collaborate across the One Publishing Team to help plan, produce, publish and evaluate content across our Communications-owned channels. You’ll also work with multiple teams in our Global Communications function to brainstorm and create channel-right storytelling plans, internally and externally.
Your role helps shape the future of storytelling at Nike, with a focus on building and executing our editorial work from the ground up. You will accomplish this through:
Partnering with teammates within One Publishing, across Global Communications, and often across NIKE, Inc. to take editorial content ideas from brainstorm to planning to production to published — then evaluating audience metrics to identify opportunities to improve
Driving creative ways of working, improving collaboration, reducing bottlenecks, increasing efficiency and managing resources
Devising and managing an editorial production calendar that will act as the backbone of a team responsible for writing, publishing, editorial planning and more
Engaging writers and creatives to help produce editorial content; actively looking for new partner relationships to help continue the team to up-level its content production
Overseeing and socializing the editorial guidelines for working with the One Publishing Team across Global Communications and other NIKE, Inc. functions
Partnering across Global Communications and NIKE, Inc. — often working with product, creative, or marketing teammates
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
The One Publishing Team, which sits within Global Communications, obsesses how to create great Nike stories, internally and externally. The team seeks disruption, values dexterity, displays initiative and elevates the thinking of the Global Communications team in service of better storytelling.
This role will report into the Director, One Publishing, Editorial Managing Editor. You will work closely with One Publishing teammates, along with members of the Global Communications team.
WHAT YOU BRING
3-5+ years of professional experience in communications, content and editorial strategy, or publishing
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
Direct Creative Operations/Project Management, Content Operations, or media production experience; strong organizational skills and the ability to clearly communicate ideas and influence plans across team members and leadership levels
Experience building and executing content production from brainstorm to delivery, that is reliable, repeatable and efficient, helping drive consensus and alignment
A deep curiosity for the evolving media and editorial landscape and the new mediums and methods to create and package editorial
Technical fluency and savviness; ability to use editorial tools to centralize documentation and workflow and monitor analytics, including content management systems, data resources such as Google Analytics, and organizational platforms such as Asana, Figma, and Keynote
Proven experience managing external agency partners; existing relationships with creative agencies a plus
Proven experience managing complex timelines, budgets, and deliverables, and the ability to streamline and optimize complex processes
Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team-player mindset
Curiosity and attention to detail are essential, along with the ability to scope and estimate project size and volume, and support the team in managing creative staffing, capacity and bandwidth
