WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
As a Tax Analyst, you will report to Senior Manager Tax Compliance, Asia Pacific (APAC). This role will be part of the Global Tax team focused on both direct tax and indirect tax compliances and tax operations for APAC, and be accountable for the creation, optimization and protection of tax value in support of Nike APLA finance, business and shareholder objectives.
This role will be responsible for providing professional and relevant tax support to facilitate efficient and accurate tax operations as well as sufficient and excellent advice to support business growth and capture tax risk & opportunities for Nike APAC entities.
This role will partner closely with Global Tax Technology team, APAC Controlling, to carry out direct tax and indirect tax compliances and tax operations work from India, coordinating with external Tax Managed Service Providers (MSP) and Tax Advisors. This role will also partner closely with key business functions such as Legal, Human Resource and Technology teams.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Nike seeks a Tax Analyst having worked in both Direct Tax and Indirect Tax areas of work in a retail/fashion/sports Industry with organization turnover of large scale to manage the direct tax and indirect tax compliance and reporting.
The Tax Analyst is highly organized, results driven, and has expertise within the direct tax and indirect tax compliance and reporting, including handling tax assessment and audit.
Minimum education qualification: Master’s degree in accounting /finance/Tax having solid understanding and work experience in the field of direct tax, transfer pricing and indirect tax compliance, tax audit and advisory with related work experience of 5-6 years.
Effective team player and strong communicator, liaising cross-functionally within Global Tax, with APAC Controlling, external MSPs, external Tax Advisors, and across the NIKE functional matrix.
Leads and drives an organized, efficient, and successful tax compliance process.
Possesses problem-solving competency, multi-tasking capability, is a forward-thinker, creative partner, and always looking to improve the tax compliance process.
Computer Literate and Experienced in Microsoft Office Applications, Tax tools and SAP.
Excellent Interpersonal, Verbal and Written Communication Skills.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
The Tax Analyst’s core responsibilities would be:
Coordination for Direct Tax & Indirect Tax Filings
Facilitate the comprehensive gathering and analysis of information essential for the accurate and timely filing of Direct Tax & Indirect Tax Returns (including Withholding Tax & Tax Deducted at Source) and tax payments across the APAC region. This includes co-ordination and proactive engagement within Global Tax Team (include Global Tax Technology), with APAC Controlling, external MSPs, Tax Advisors to ensure alignment and efficiency in direct tax compliance processes.
Advocate for best practices in direct tax and indirect tax data collection and reporting, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement within the Global Tax function.
Support Direct Tax & Indirect Tax Audit Controversy
Support the intricacies of responding to inquiries and audits from tax authorities in APAC region regarding direct tax and indirect tax matters. Collaborate effectively within Global Tax Team (include Global Tax Technology), with APAC Controlling, relevant Business Stakeholders, external MSPs, and external Tax Advisors to compile robust responses and data necessary for direct tax and indirect tax queries and appeals.
Collaboration on Global Tax Technology and Data Management Initiatives
Partner and support the Global Tax Technology Team to advance the organization’s continuous automation and enhancement of global tax data and tax management strategy.
Share innovative ideas and insights to leverage automation and data analytics, driving continuous improvements, automation in tax processes and ensuring data consistency.
Assist in the implementation of technology solutions that facilitate accurate data reporting, enhance efficiency, and support informed decision-making within tax operations.
