WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
This position is an integral part of Asia Pacific & Latin America (APLA) supply chain sustainability team. You will report to the Director, APLA Responsible Supply Chain. In your day to day, you will be actively working with the following key stakeholders: Partner Managers and Material Managers, Global Sustainability Subject Matter Experts, RSC Subject Matter Experts, Government and Public Affairs, Legal, Communications, External Engagements, as well as NIKE Manufacturing Partners.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a APLA, Supply Chain Sustainability, Senior (focused on Latin America) to be based in Mexico City. This role works with key apparel & materials manufacturers, and their leadership in sustainability is essential to ensure we meet our targets. To be successful in this role, we need someone with deep expertise deploying strategies in global supply chains, preferably in a contract manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate must be able to think strategically and translate strategies into action with clear and aligned plans across environmental and human rights initiatives. Must be able to maintain clarity and drive accountabilities throughout course of planning and execution of strategy. Communicate a vision and motivate others into action. They will excel at driving change and will be regarded as a trusted leader who fosters teamwork and develops others.
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree in sustainability or business related field preferred, and 5+ years professional experience in manufacturing sustainability & strategy deployment at country and factory levels
- Strong Knowledge and experience in:
- Deploying and translating sustainability strategy into actions
- Capability building and iterative problem solving;
- Stakeholder and partner management skills;
- Project Management skills and strong attention to detail;
- Performance management;
- Building & translating sustainability data and analytics; and
- Ability to use data to make the business case for initiatives
- Excellent verbal and written English & Spanish communication skills, tailoring communications appropriately.
- Experience working in cross functional environment
- Ability to travel domestic or overseas for business purpose approx. 5% of the time.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
In this role you will serve as a key member of our Responsible Supply Chain team, driving performance across all sustainability impact areas for key contract manufacturing partners in Latin America.
You will partner with NIKE partner/vendor managers and factory/vendor group leadership to drive top-to-top engagement including:
- Aligning and deploying strategies and initiatives
- Driving Partner/vendor group-level performance management
- Prioritizing strategic capability development
- Driving clarity, alignment and accountability on initiatives and investments
- Identifying risks that could affect business continuity, coordinating development and execution of risk mitigation plans
You will also support the APLA RSC Director in strategy deployment process at country level engagement. This work will encompass, but not limited to:
- Coach factory location leadership to execute NIKE Global Sustainability strategies and initiatives.
- Coach factory leadership to continuously elevate their sustainability performance.
- Drive factory capability development through learning communities.
- Drive clarity, alignment and accountability on initiatives progress and delivery.
- Identify risks that could affect business continuity, coordinating development, and execution of risk mitigation plans.
