WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

The Carbon Lead Supply Chain will be part of the Nike EMEA Responsible Supply Chain (RSC) team and collaborate with different partners internally in our Nike European Logistics Campus (Laakdal, Belgium), our European & Global headquarters, and externally.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

In our efforts to “Move to Zero” on Carbon & Waste we need to make sure that we reach our bold targets to reduce our impact for Supply Chain in EMEA, while at the same time making sure that sustainability gets more embedded in everything that we do.

This will result in a focus on sustainable innovation where this position will support the roll out of low carbon fuels & energy and assist a more efficient network. Also, this role will be at the forefront of an increasing sustainability culture for the Supply Chain in EMEA.

We look for an innovative and continuous improvement mindset to support Nike’s strategic business plans, with an increasing focus on carbon accounting impact / assurance.

The Carbon Lead Supply Chain will be the voice of the department in cross-functional projects and is able to translate complex information into worthwhile business insights & engaging stories (to every level of the organization).

  • Proven solid experience in the field of Supply Chain / Logistics with a passion for Sustainability. Experience in Transportation or Distribution (or both) is an asset!
  • Proven experience in Vendor Management.
  • Proven experience using data to solve complex issues related to Supply Chain and Logistics.
  • An improvement mindset with a drive to innovate, always using an analytical and critical approach.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient communication skills in English (spoken and written) as being a strong storyteller and influencer.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You will

  • lead the EMEA Supply Chain Carbon 2030 targets objectives with the main result to have a full EMEA Fossil Free network by 2030.
  • drive the acceleration of end state fuels: from transition fuels to renewables. Reach the highest % possible by 2030.
  • work with teams (mainly Distribution / Transport / Marketplace Supply Chain) to create a more efficient network that will reduce carbon impact (fill rates, routing, airfreight reduction, energy saving programs, etc.).
  • own the new operating model for EMEA Marketplace Supply chain Sustainability and work with commercial partners on Supply Chain opportunities that lead with sustainability.
  • be a key point person for The Terrace Sustainability work (New UK Distribution Center), on behalf of RSC EMEA.
  • make us future proof for future reporting / assurance / auditing for Carbon areas and act upon any regulatory space changes wrt. carbon impact for distribution / logistics.
  • (co-) lead our sustainability engagement / culture program for Supply Chain EMEA.

The role will be based in Laakdal, Belgium at Nike’s European Logistics Campus. Flexible working options are available with a requirement to be on site at least 3 days a week.
