In this role, you will collaborate with various partners across our Global trade network, the ELC campus, our European and global headquarters, and external stakeholders, often engaging with senior-level professionals. 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for an inspiring servant leader to join our Customs and trade team as Customs Manager. This role will focus on driving performance excellence in dutiable element processes within the dynamic EMEA trade landscape, particularly in the UK and EU. Our leaders are committed to fostering engaging and empowering work environments where talent can flourish. You will lead a team of specialists, analysts and a coach, coaching and collaborating with them to achieve our shared goal: to “move Nike as one” and serve our customers and consumers at scale. The ideal candidate is passionate about growing people, customs compliance, driving business success, and developing themselves in an ever-changing environment. 

  • You operate at a master level, thinking strategically and challenging the status quo. 
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant Supply chain experience, ideally in a global matrix environment. Additional experience, particularly in customs and trade compliance or international trade, is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in building and leading (virtual) teams, with a strong focus on team values and development
  • Experience with performance management (internal processes and processes of partners)
  • You can think conceptually and end-to-end
  • Exceptional communication skills in English and Dutch, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely, both in person and virtually
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% annually

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

In this role, you will lead a team focused on customs valuation, origin determination (FTA), and classification processes.

You will be responsible for the operational excellence of these processes, coaching the team in process improvements and collaborating with peers to design and implement innovative solutions. You will create actionable plans with clear timelines, deliverables, and ownership, while driving cross-functional alignment and progress in line with agreed-upon solutions. 

Your responsibilities may include transforming processes in line with legislative changes, improving the self-assessment framework for classification, and engaging with factories and global stakeholders to enhance Free Trade Agreement (FTA) eligibility, …

  • You will lead a team of 8 people, out of which 4 are direct reports.
  • You will introduce new ways of working, integrating agile methodology and have a flexible, positive, and solution focused approach.
  • You are comfortable translating complexity and ambiguity into a simple and compelling story, and drive actions based on data and analytical insights
