Material Handler – QS Returns Department (PM SHIFT)
Location: Nike Canada Corp., 260 Brimley Road, Scarborough, ON M1M 3H8
Shift: PM Shift (Start time 3:00 -11:30 PM)
Department: Quality Services (QS) – Returns
Reports To: Coach – Quality Services (PM Shift)
Job Summary:
The Material Handler in the QS Returns department plays a key role in the inspection, grading, and processing of returned footwear and apparel. This position ensures that returned products are accurately assessed and prepared for reintegration into inventory or designated for secondary channels, following Nike’s quality standards and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
· Identify and document quality issues such as damage, wear, or manufacturing defects.
· Clean and prepare items for put away, including proper folding and packaging.
· Load, unload, and move materials using manual or mechanical equipment (e.g., pump trucks).
· Construct put away pallets and apply inventory labels.
· Use RF scanners to complete packing, palletizing, and inventory updates.
· Report any unsafe conditions, take appropriate measures to protect your own safety and that of . your colleagues.
· Sort and categorize returned items for appropriate disposition.
· Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training sessions.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area.
· Work closely with coaches and teammates to meet shift targets.
· Support other functional areas as needed and assist with overtime or weekend shifts.
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in warehouse or distribution center operations, at least 1 year experience.
· Familiarity with RF scanning devices and WMS systems is an asset.
· Ability to lift 10-50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook effectively to support daily material handling
. operation.
· Must be able to interact effectively and work successfully with a diverse group of people on all . levels to reach common goals
· Positive communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
· High School diploma or equivalent.
