WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR 

As a Brand Creative Operations & Production Director for the North America Geography, reporting into the Senior Director of Brand Planning & Operations (BPO), you will drive and oversee brand creative operational excellence & production of all work across our North America creative studios. This role will primarily focus on partnering with the NA VP of Brand Creative to oversee the overall operations of the brand creative department, ensuring the team is running effectively, efficiently and delivering the best creative outputs.

You & your team will be responsible for planning and prioritizing workstreams coming into the studios, ensuring that workstreams are adequately supported, and that individuals are getting a balanced workload throughout the year. You will have topline knowledge of status and health of all projects in the studios. You are highly organized, naturally strategic, and a seasoned problem-solver working with the team to mitigate project risks and elevate to leadership when needed. You will drive and implement new process, set-up our studios for new ways of working, track and socialize the review and delivery cadence of projects within your studios.

You are a passionate, creative thought partner who gets energized by the process of bringing creative ideas to life. You come with a wealth of experience from the creative industry; in which you have built robust relationships with established and emerging talent over the years. You actively look for new talent and make it your mission to know the latest in industry trends across multiple mediums.

A key part of your role will focus on coaching your team and creating opportunity for individuals to develop. You will build and nurture a culture of sharing, learning and inspiring each other – working across all teams to bring people together.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON

Leading a team

Managing and coaching a team of Producers & Operational leaders:

  • Creating a thriving team culture grounded in the Nike Maxims and Leadership Defined behaviors.

  • Driving consistent conversations focused on each direct reports own personal and career development.

  • Supporting your team through development opportunities and sharing feedback along the way.

Overseeing the planning, resourcing and intake of projects

Working alongside your key cross-functional business partners to:

  • Define process and cadence for pipeline planning and project intake that ensures we actively manage the capacity of our team and the Brand Creative team

  • Ensure we balance business and creative priorities throughout

  • Overseeing all resourcing for current projects:

  • Guiding and supporting the team through changes and unforeseen obstacles

  • Maintaining close connection with Global and Geo counterparts to:

  • Gain and provide visibility over priorities, the creative pipeline, and ways of working

  • Partnering with our Brand Creative VP and their leadership team to:

  • Drive clear prioritization across all studios, ensuring that we are working on the most important projects and scaling externally on all other workstreams

Overseeing Creative Production

  • Secure funding and managing large functional and cross functional retainers / budgets

  • Oversee a team responsible for multiple creative productions from briefing to final asset executions

  • When needed, you will make key creative and financial decisions to ensure we deliver the best work

  • Support your team in managing conversations with senior relationships, both within and outside of Nike

  • Overseeing a team driving contract negotiations with talent, crew, and vendors

  • Deep connection to the creative industry and an up-to-date point of view of industry trends

Driving Best Practice & Operational Excellence

  • Reinforcing best practices to ensure consistency and quality output

  • Continuously evolve the tools and processes we use to find new efficiencies for our team

  • Look to the future, identifying new areas to expand, while providing clear learning agendas and opportunities for our team

  • Support in driving and building a true center of excellence within Brand Creative Production & Operations, working closely with the Global team to ensure consistency

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH 

You are the key operational partner to the Creative Director VP of North America, managing the entire Brand Creative Operations & Production team.

Daily, you will partner closely with the extended creative leadership team to ensure that we plan and prioritize workstreams effectively and cohesively across all studios. Keeping abreast of all work and ensuring the team remains focused on delivering the best creative work.

You’ll play an instrumental role as a member of the Brand Planning & Operations leadership team and closely partner with peers overseeing Consumer Planning & Operations, Marketplace Planning & Operations and Process Development & Capabilities.

Additionally, you’ll maintain critical partnerships across the broader NA Brand Marketing team along with supporting functions across Finance, Legal Procurement and Business Affairs.

WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE

  • Deep knowledge and passion for creativity, sports and culture.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Marketing or related field; or equivalent combination of education, experience, or training

  • Proven experience working within a creative agency or other in-house creative teams.

  • Deep experience working across a breadth of creative roles – studio management, project management, production & design.

  • Skilled in working and leading complex studio resourcing and planning.

  • Ability to drive innovation and implement new ways of working within a creative team.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the abilities to be a strong team player and collaborator.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communicator, as well as a strategic thinker that can simplify complex information.

  • Experience managing complex timelines, budgets and deliverables.

  • Ability to thrive in a highly matrixed environment with multiple business functions and senior stakeholders, cutting through the noise to challenge business priorities and deliver the best creative.

  • Proven experience leading producers with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve common goals. 

  • Confidence in driving and leading difficult conversations and negotiations.

  • Skilled people manager.

  • Travel 10% of the time.
