WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a passionate merchandising Director to lead the Global Men’s Training Apparel team and effectively build line plans that will drive future growth while partnering closely with all four geos to keep a pulse on the ever changing market landscape. You will lead your team through key CODE moments of line planning and merchandising assortment review while continuously monitoring the business and market trends.

The candidate needs to have a passion for product and a keen understanding of the men’s apparel landscape with continued curiosity to fuel future strategies. This candidate should have expert level ability to turn insights into actions rooted in quant and qualitative insights and business trend to help influence the future. WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

If this is you, you’ll be working with a team of passionate men’s training apparel merchants focusing on line planning, assortment building and leading the team to implement the strategic direction of the men’s training apparel line.

YOUR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:

Line Planning

  • Architect future looking line plans, delivering optimized blueprints to serve the global marketplace.
  • Builds & delivers apparel seasonal line plans incorporating franchise & classification excellence, pricing and tiering, Global marketplace capacity, and financial health, grounded in the end-in-mind.
  • Work across Sport to ensure incrementality across classifications while partnering with Women’s, Footwear and Accessory partners to enable head to toe connections and cross-gender cohesion.
  • Guide the team to deliver against future priorities, taking the brand and consumer somewhere new.

Assortment Creation

  • Coach team to think end-in-mind when building global perspectives on assortment strategies.
  • Ensures assortment strategy is comprised of end-in-mind needs grounded in marketplace capacity and delivers channel level assortment frameworks ultimately fueling product concepts and strategic priorities.
  • Aligns with other Sport merchandising leaders on x-consumer topics and strategies to ensure a cohesive marketplace.

Team Leadership

  • Inspires excellence through partnership and collaboration, managing and leading through change.
  • Grows and develops talent within the Merchandising function, building future leaders.
  • Passionate leader in tune with team needs and dedicated to providing support to set up the team for success.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will work with your global cross-functional team across product, planning and brand supporting the Sport. You will report to the leader of training merchandising and lead a team of passionate apparel merchants. You will partner closely with your geo counterparts to implement strategies and represent marketplace nuance back upstream.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
  • At least 8-10 years experience in merchandising, buying and/or product creation
  • Apparel, footwear and/or accessories merchandising or product experience
  • Management Experience (directly or indirectly)
  • Consumer Industry and Insights Competence
  • Strong Retail Acumen and Product Expertise
  • Ability to translate Insights and Retail Results into Actionable Strategies and Plans
  • Experience developing and implementing Product Strategy
  • Experience in multi-season Assortment Planning and Pricing
  • Cross functional Leadership and Partnership
  • Obtain a keen understanding of the Nike consumer and Fitness marketplace
  • Willing to travel 10-20% of the time
