WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will work under the direction of a Design Director based at WHQ (PHK) and partner closely with cross-functional teams across APLA to lead and deliver innovative retail environments, displays, and digital solutions. You will collaborate with both internal and external design teams, applying established design processes and best practices to ensure creative intent, executional excellence, timelines, and budgets are consistently met.
In this role, you will build strong, influential relationships across functions and territories, working alongside merchandising, marketing, operations, and other creative counterparts to ensure alignment throughout each project. Your ability to communicate effectively, navigate ambiguity, and provide clear direction will be essential as you help drive collaboration, elevate design standards, and bring Nike’s retail vision to life across the marketplace.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Nike is seeking a Mexico City–based Designer for Retail Story Design—an innovator who will support and develop consumer-led retail concepts and elevate Nike’s retail business. We are looking for a strategic, collaborative, and creative team leader who can deliver impactful and scalable design solutions for immersive retail environments and experiences. You bring a strong foundation in brand and retail design, with a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or a related field, and at least five years of experience creating sophisticated visual and spatial concepts.
You have a demonstrated ability to work across multiple design disciplines—including graphic design, environmental design, materials, and digital—with advanced proficiency in Adobe Suite, Keynote, SketchUp, and 3D rendering software. You consistently push the boundaries of immersive retail environments, using emerging technology to enhance consumer engagement and interaction. You excel at storytelling, integrating cultural, consumer, and business insights into design solutions that reflect Nike’s design ethos.
As a team leader, you communicate complex ideas clearly at all levels, including senior creative teams, and you are able to influence, collaborate, and build strong relationships across functions and territories. You operate confidently in fast-paced environments, showing sound judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to motivate teams while driving clarity and alignment.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
You will lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive innovative retail concepts and ensure strategic alignment with Nike’s business priorities. You will provide creative vision, tactical direction, and design continuity across multiple projects, ensuring that the work reflects Nike’s standards of excellence and delivers a premium consumer experience.
Your responsibilities include:
• Leading teams across multiple design disciplines, providing vision, strategic direction, and alignment with business strategies.
• Managing and coaching design professionals, creating opportunities for development, recognizing strong performance, and fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and collaboration.
• Collaborating with design peers and partner groups to maintain consistency and alignment with Brand plans across all areas of focus.
• Overseeing the design process to ensure deliverables, timelines, and budgets are met while establishing and driving best practices.
• Presenting and communicating design concepts to management at all levels, effectively elevating strategic concerns when needed.
Your strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills will be essential when navigating complex topics or influencing cross-functional and cross-territory alignment. Your ability to bring structure, clarity, and strong decision-making to the design process will help ensure that each project maintains both creative intent and operational excellence.
